The Miami Dolphins concluded their 2024 season with a losing streak of (8-9) and, for the third consecutive year, ended up in second place within the division, trailing the Buffalo Bills.

Despite having impressive squads in recent seasons, the Dolphins haven't managed to emerge as serious rivals since Mike McDaniel and Chris Grier took charge of the team.

As the squad gears up for the upcoming season, several paths lie ahead, such as potentially scaling back to revamp for tomorrow. This could involve saying goodbye to one of their star athletes.

Throughout the entire off-season, Miami Dolphins' wide receiver Tyreek Hill has been mentioned in various trade discussions, with recent mentions as late as Tuesday. Sportsnaut's Andrew Buller-Russ suggested Miami might ship the starwide receiver to the Green Bay Packers.

Hill, who is 31 years old, competed for Garden City Community College, Oklahoma State, and West Alabama prior to being selected by the Kansas City Chiefs in the fifth round (165th overall pick) of the 2016 NFL Draft.

Hill excelled in his time with Kansas City, earning six Pro Bowl selections and six All-Pro honors while aiding the team in securing their first Super Bowl victory after five decades.

Prior to the 2022 season, the Chiefs traded Hill to Miami in exchange for a collection of five draft picks. The Dolphins promptly offered him an extended contract, making him the highest-paid wide receiver in NFL history.

In 50 appearances across three seasons with the Dolphins, Hill secured 319 catches amounting to 4,468 yards and scoring 26 touchdowns. Nevertheless, 2024 marked a less successful period for him, tallying only 81 receptions for 959 yards along with six touchdowns.

Following the season, Hill appeared to ask for a trade; however, both the wide receiver and Grier stated that this request was not officially filed.

Should Miami part ways with Hill before the 2025 season, they would stand to save $14.97 million (after June 1st). Additionally, this move would elevate Jaylen Waddle as their primary wide receiver, with Nick Westbrook-Ikhine, Erik Ezukanma, Malik Washington, Tarik Black, and Tahj Washington stepping into supporting roles on the depth chart.

This would complicate things significantly for folks in Miami Gardens, however, as compensation, they'd retain the funds and get some additional draft choices back.

Green Bay might be excited about providing Jordan Love with additional support. Hill could join forces again with his ex-Chiefs teammate, Mecole Hardman, at the position spot, improving the dynamics among the group including Romeo Doubs, Christian Watson, and Jayden Reed.
