Prominent Nigerian singer and composer, Rema, has dropped his sophomore single for the year 2025. Following up from his debut release this year which set a new benchmark as the second-largest opening-day stream achievement for music from Africa, he continues to make significant strides in the industry at the beginning of 2025.
Rema’s second release titled 'صندrites' Bout U The release took place during the latter part of Thursday, April 10, 2025. This song, blending vocal harmonies with guitar instrumental sections, evokes a sense of nostalgia reminiscent of the early 2000s era.
Rema, internationally recognized for chart-topping tracks such as 'Calm Down' and 'Dumebi,' which made it onto former U.S. President Barack Obama's summer playlist, has enjoyed considerable success throughout his career since launching in 2019.
The first track he released in 2025, "Baby - Is It a Crime," has stayed as the most-streamed Nigerian song throughout this year.
In 2024, Rema received a Grammy nomination for his sophomore album 'HEIS,' which was shortlisted under the category of Best Global Music Album. Since making his debut, this renowned artist has garnered international acclaim. Known for producing worldwide hits, he achieved particular success with what became the most significant Afrobeats track ever recorded: 'Calm Down.'
In 2025, Rema seems to be off to a strong start with the highest number of nominations at the award show. Headies gathering 9 nominations, including Album of the Year.
