Canberra Raiders dummy half Tom Starling has disclosed that he isn't concerned about the club making signings Jayden Brailey at the beginning of 2026 NRL season.
Brailey, whose contract was set to expire soon, Newcastle Knights And as the team looks to adjust their salary cap, they have opted to release him, leading to his decision to join Canberra at the beginning of the upcoming season.
The Raiders have earmarked Owen Pattie As their permanent dummy half, and he'll stay with the team for the upcoming season, apparently leaving both Stirling and Danny Levi , who are set to be out-of-favour as their contracts expire at the end of this year, are also off-contract.
The club might still try to keep one of the pair within their Top 30, but this could pose a risk for either athlete, potentially ending up playing in the reserves instead.
Starling though, speaking to The Canberra Times He mentioned he isn't concerned about Brailey's autograph.
"That’s further along the way. My current concern is securing victories for the team, and that’s what I’m concentrating on," he stated in the interview.
If I begin fretting over that, I won’t be able to play every week consistently, which means I could lose my position. The reality is as it stands; I’ll simply focus on doing my job. That involves getting ready for Parramatta this coming weekend and then gearing up for the Gold Coast the following weekend.
It’s probable that there will be several interested parties for Starling, considering his versatility as he can operate both as a lock and a forward. Regardless of whether he starts or comes on as a substitute, his dynamic presence adds an explosive element to the game.
At various points, he has taken on both positions for the green team, though it remains uncertain whether the organization wishes to keep him.

However, Starling isn't concerned about his subsequent contract.
"I have a manager who can handle everything else... My main concern is focusing on football and having fun with the guys," Starling stated.
I’m not really concerned about that. Let my game on the field speak for itself, and I’ll leave those matters to the manager.
The only thing I focus on is playing football. It’s easy to obsess over these things if you dwell on them, but I try not to stress about it.
