Despite No. 3 having been used by third-year cornerback Deonte Banks during the previous season, both parties appear to have reached some form of understanding allowing the 10-time Pro Bowl quarterback to sport this number throughout his career.
Wilson provided Banks, who was once a top-first round selection, a shout-out on social media after it was announced he'd be wearing No. 3.
It's unclear whether Wilson had to compensate Banks for the jersey number, but that's typically the way these things work.
The Giants will quickly work to get Wilson acclimated with his new teammates, but it seems to be off to a good start with the offseason workouts coming up in two weeks.
