The Infinite Growth of Group Whib is Demonstrated.
A showcase took place at the Seongam Art Hall in Gangnam-gu, Seoul on the afternoon of the 9th to celebrate the launch of Whib's fourth single album titled "Bangout."
In Jader’s second year following his debut anniversary, he embarked on a singing career. Having released three prior albums together, extensive discussions took place regarding this new record. Lee Jung-eun reflected deeply on ways they could express their individuality: “During the seven-month preparation period leading up to our return, we thoroughly discussed the upcoming concepts and the full-length album. My preparations left me without feeling any disconnect. To enhance our live performances, we spent ample time rehearsing with one another,” explained Yoo Gun. He added gratefully, “It meant a great deal seeing fans support us at various Asian fan meetings and during promotional activities in Japan; witnessing them sing along in Korean truly felt like receiving a present.”
"Bhangout" is an album centered around Whib, whose confidence surpasses everyone else’s in their musical journey. The record captures the struggle of continuously validating oneself, personal development, and Heeve's determination to transcend boundaries and advance with pride.
The concept is that eight members have turned into game characters with different potentials in the virtual world, including Jader, Ha Seung, a One Food fighter who has only eaten salad for a month, Jin Beom, the ability to pioneer new snacks, Yu Gun, the ability to purify, Lee Jung-eun, Walker, Jae-ha, a character who gains energy every time he turns using his figure skating skills, Inhong, the ability to develop charisma when drinking coconut like a potion, and Wonjun, who can conquer the world, have become game characters with different potentials in the virtual world.
Jaeha is returning each time in her signature hue, and for this album, she has chosen magenta. She plans to display her powerful energy and stage presence. With conviction, she stated, "Every shade from black to white and beyond belongs to us." Adding further, the provocateur remarked, "Since magenta carries such a sharp and ironic connotation, my aim is firmly set on leaving an indelible impression of the Whib on everyone’s mind through this vibrant color."
The song 'Bangout' and the track titled 'Still Typing...(Subtitle: Blank)' include two distinct compositions.
'Bangout' is a hip-hop track that blends intense heavy metal-style guitar riffs with dubstep elements. The artist delivers the commanding and assured stage presence of Whibman through a robust yet stylish soundscape supported by a strong melodic structure.
Yu Gun mentioned, “I believed it would be beneficial for both viewers and performers if everyone watched it with enthusiasm and intensity. Since the choreographer’s routines kept evolving, my hope was to receive feedback saying ‘they’re executing this beautifully.’ It felt like everything we did for each album needed to validate ourselves. I pondered extensively on the type of presentation that would suit me best, which aspects should shine through, and how to tackle the performance effectively. After discussing many of these thoughts with fellow group members, we concluded that projecting confidence during our performances could help convey our genuine intentions directly to the audience.”
The track "Still typing..." conveys deep emotions, blending a city-pop vibe with the tones of an electric piano for a contemporary take on 1980s-style R&B. The lyrics speak softly about moving ahead fueled by memories of a radiant love that lingers within.
White will drop 'Bangout' at 6 p.m. on the same day and kick off his active phase.
The real culprit desires the modifier known as "'5th Generation Cheatkey'". It is my wish for this endeavor to serve as a cheat code within the fifth generation, similar to how a cheat code guides one towards triumph in a game. As stated by Lee Jung-eun: "Regardless of winning or losing, I am confident that our performance will become addictive, much like replaying a favorite video game. Our appeal lies in the fact that although each musical piece has a distinct ambiance and the lead single varies, they all possess numerous captivating elements."
Ha Seung stated, “My aim is to obtain the ‘Recording Restaurant’ modifier for this album. Given that our team excels in powerful rhythms, I attempted to grasp the sort of atmosphere they might project. In my opinion, I have demonstrated improvement in vocals,” explained Won-jun. He added, “Collaboration among us is where my expertise lies. I believe this will allow me to exhibit significant progress since the last album.”
J.D. aims to produce his distinctive hue through this album. He stated, "My objective is to secure the top spot on music shows with this release," he emphasized.
