The British director teams up with Apple for his new film "Fountain of Youth," which stars John Krasinski and Natalie Portman as two siblings who chase the eponymous source of immortality on a globe-trotting adventure. </p> <p> An official synopsis for the film reads: "‘Fountain of Youth' follows two estranged siblings (John Krasinski and Academy Award winner Natalie Portman) who partner on a global heist to find the mythological Fountain of Youth. They must use their knowledge of history to follow clues on an epic adventure that will change their lives … and possibly lead to immortality." </p> <p> "Fountain of Youth" is directed by Guy Ritchie and written by James Vanderbilt. The film also stars Eiza González, Domhnall Gleeson, Arian Moayed, Laz Alonso, Carmen Ejogo, and Stanley Tucci. David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, Don Granger, Guy Ritchie, Ivan Atkinson, Tripp Vinson, Jake Myers, James Vanderbilt, William Sherak, Paul Neinstein produce the film, with Matt Bettinelli-Olpin, Tyler Gillett, Chad Villella, Tara Farney. </p> <p> "The Fountain of Youth" represents the newest venture for this prolific director, following up after directing "The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare," with additional work currently underway on the psychological thriller "In the Grey," starring Henry Cavill and Jake Gyllenhaal. Over the past few years, he has expanded into TV, where he developed the Netflix show "The Gentlemen" and took part as both an executive producer and director for episodes of "MobLand." His take on the recent Tom Hardy-fronted series offers valuable insight. The filmmaker known for "Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels," "Snatch," and "Wrath of Man" not only directs the initial two episodes but also acts as an executive producer for the entire series. In contrast to the Netflix remake of his 2019 film with the same title, ‘The Gentlemen, He might as well be a writer for 'MobLand,'" the review states, referring to Bennett and Jez Butterworth from ‘The Agency’ who initially handled the scripts. "Harry embodies another quintessential Ritchie character: a resilient, faithful man treated poorly, respected within the criminal world he belongs to, yet fully aware that this esteem doesn’t ensure his security. </p> <p> The Fountain of Youth" begins streaming on Apple TV+ starting Friday, May 23.
