FBI Director Kash Patel cautioned that the U.S. must become 'more watchful' regarding incoming materials through the Canadian border since enemies have 'adjusted their tactics.'
The leading law enforcement official asserted this during their testimony to legislators with the House Intelligence Committee regarding international threats on Wednesday.
'The flow of known and suspected terrorists into our country is greater via our northern border compared to our southern border,' Patel cautioned.
He credited it to the 'successes we have achieved in sealing off our southern border.'
When Patel was responding to questions posed by Congressman Greg Steube, he admitted during their discussion about the influx of fentanyl through the U.S. border.
During another part of the hearing, Patel stated that known and suspected terrorists are entering through the southern border with considerably reduced frequency.

He mentioned that since January 20th, when President Trump assumed office, two known or suspected terrorists have been detained at the southern border.
"They are appearing more frequently along the northern border, and since January 20th, this count has reached 34," Patel stated.
'These metrics have been tracked over the past year in terms of ratios,' the FBI director added.
He stated that it suggests 'those aiming to cause the greatest damage to this nation are exploiting the northern border.'
Patel stated that the U.S. should redirect resources to focus on the Canadian border.

During the hearing, the FBI director admitted that the two greatest threats to the United States come from China and Russia.
'The adversary adjusts,' Patel stated.
He cautioned that America’s opponents like China, Russia, and Iran have completely ceased utilizing the southern border.
However, he mentioned that they have redirected their attention and assets to the northern border since the Trump administration is intensifying efforts to secure the border with Mexico.
