The anticipation has come to an end. In collaboration with the Riky Rick Foundation, AUTOR, Nirox Foundation, Koda Kultur, as well as the Danish Foreign and Cultural Ministries, One Groove proudly announces the selection of 14 emerging artists—seven from South Africa and seven from Denmark—who will take part in this initiative. 2025 AmaGroove Residency in SA.
Happening from April 26th to May 3rd at the Kromdraai Impact and Co-Creativity Hub within the Cradle of Humankind, this week-long exclusive residency program provides selected artists with an intense, creative environment aimed at fostering collaboration, development, and artistic dialogue. During their stay, participants can engage in immersive composition workshops designed for producers, singers, and lyricists to jointly craft fresh tracks. Additionally, they'll have access to panel discussions, mentorship opportunities, and insights into the industry. By the end of their time here, each artist should emerge not only with brand-new compositions but also enriched relationships and renewed inspiration.
This year’s applicant group was genuinely awe-inspiring due to their talent, imagination, and variety. Each artist contributed uniquely, which made the selection process exceptionally challenging. Here are the 14 chosen artists:

The AmaGroove Residency goes beyond being merely an international musical initiative; it’s a vibrant artistic movement. Tailored for up-and-coming musicians, lyricists, and creators, this residency provides a distinctive platform for collaboration, innovation, and personal growth through immersive cultural interactions. In 2024, participants produced twenty new tracks, demonstrating that combining varied perspectives from different genders, styles, and locations yields genuinely global sounds.
A notable highlight from last year’s residency was “SAID I DO” by Chipego, a heartfelt song that emerged during an impromptu night-time recording session with Danish producer Mark Fosnæs. Check it out on YouTube. HERE .
