West Coast Captain Oscar Allen intends to leave under free agency and link up with the current champions. Brisbane as reported by Tom Morris, Nine’s lead AFL journalist.

Allen, who recently had a meeting with Hawthorn Coach Sam Mitchell stands out as one of the most prominent figures currently available, and he fits ideally with the Lions due to their necessity to fill the void left by the retiring Joe Daniher.

Morris outlined the three factors contributing to the 26-year-old player’s inclination toward relocating nationally.

"As things currently stand, Oscar Allen aims to join the Brisbane Lions next season," Morris said to Nine. Footy Classified .

He's definitely finishing his contract by the end of this year and will become a free agent.

There are three factors motivating him to join the Brisbane Lions next season. A lengthy contract is one reason, offering stability. With more than six years involved, it also allows him to secure his family’s future.

Another factor is that they're within the premiership window and have the potential to claim the flag next year.

The third point is the possibility of the Brisbane Lions addressing his physical concerns. He has experienced problems with his knee, and the team has previously resolved similar issues for players like Lincoln McCarthy, Callum Ah Chee, and naturally Joe Daniher.

This is something to keep an eye on. If the season were to conclude today, Allen would join the Lions as a free agent, though this situation might still evolve by year-end.

In response to journalists' queries in April about whether he wanted to stay with the Eagles indefinitely, Allen mentioned that he did .

"Yes, I do," he replied.

I won’t go into details. My affection for this club remains strong, and I’m excited about continuing through the remainder of this season.

The Lions have opted for the young talent Logan Morris and have also made an addition. Gold Coast stalwart Sam Day in their attempts to temporarily fill the Daniher void.
