George Odiwour, the longtime bodyguard of Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader Raila Odinga, has died.

The news came to light after ODM party Director of Communications Philip Etale announced the sad development.

He took to his social media platforms to describe Odiwour as a loyal supporter who stood by him at all costs.

"I have lost a friend. Big bro. Rest easy George. Wa!" Etale statement reading part.

Sources say Odiwuor was unwell before he died at a hospital in the capital on Wednesday, April 2.

Odiwuor served as Raila's bodyguard for more than three decades, starting in 1994.

How did Kenyans mourn George Odiwour?

Kenyans who knew him took to social media to mourn the man who had been by the former prime minister's side throughout much of his political career.
