Patricia Bennett (1964-2025)

Patricia A. Bennett, aged 60, passed away on March 16 in Newburgh.

Born on July 19, 1964, in Brooklyn, she is the offspring of Curley Ketter and Juanita Bennett. She completed her high school education at Walton High School in the Bronx in 1983 before obtaining an Associate Degree in Accounting from Monroe College.

In 1993, Patricia took up the role of a member on the Beacon school board. For much of her career, she worked as an education professional at Astor Services.

Patricia adored evenings spent watching movies, listening to hip-hop music, and going shopping with her daughter. Having explored numerous places, she and her spouse, Kirk Randolph, journeyed across all states from "Massachusetts to Florida" as well as everywhere in between. Additionally, they shared a passion for embarking on various cruise trips together.

Patricia is survived by her spouse, their daughter Jessica Bennett, and her brothers and sisters: Veronica Bennett-Francis, Curley Bennett, and Jeffrey Bennett.

Pat Heaney (1944-2025)

Patricia "Pat" Heaney, aged 80, passed away at her residence on March 27.

As one of the founding partners at the Heaney Chiropractic Center in Wappingers Falls, she dedicated more than four decades to enhancing her patients' health and wellness. She took pleasure in guiding budding chiropractors and was enthusiastic about teaching people how chiropractic treatments can improve their lives along with promoting overall wellbeing and equilibrium.

Pat dedicated her time and skills to the Southern Dutchess Chamber of Commerce as well as the Dutchess County Economic Development Corp. Additionally, she was part of the New York Chiropractic association along with the International Chiropractic and Pediatric associations.

Her biggest happiness came from her family, for whom she provided endless support, warmth, and compassion. She expressed her affection primarily through cooking, an enthusiasm she imparted to those close to her, and drew solace and company from all the dogs she adored over the years.

Pat is leaves behind her spouse, Arthur Scott; her offspring, Sean Heaney (with Maggy) and Dawn Baisley (married to James), along with her grandkids: Ian Heaney, Lena Heaney, Olesya Baisley, and Hunter Baisley.

A memorial service will take place from 1 to 3 p.m. on Sunday, April 6, at the Doyle Funeral Home located at 371 Hooker Avenue in Poughkeepsie. Donations in memory of the deceased can be made to the Pirandello Institute. pirandelloinstitute.org ).

Bobby Maksim

Robert C. Maksim, who was 61 years old and had lived in Beacon since 2006 after residing in Queens, passed away on March 27.

Bob, who used to drive buses for the MTA before retiring, tied the knot with Theresa Ann Murphy on October 5, 2002, at St. Teresa Catholic Church located in Queens. Theresa passed away in 2023. The couple had a profound affection for both canines and felines.

Bobby is survived by his daughter, Charlotte Loper (Geoff), his brother Donte Chaparro, and his wife's brother, Jerry Murphy (Eileen).

A Catholic funeral mass took place on April 3 at St. Joachim Church in Beacon.

Peggy Scannell (1926-2025)

Margaret "Peggy" T. Scannell, who was 98 years old, passed away on March 31.

Born on November 7, 1926, in Poughkeepsie, she was the daughter of John and Margaret (Clear) Scannell. Following her graduation from Beacon High School, she began working at IBM in Poughkeepsie where she stayed for 35 years until retiring in 1987. She also attended St. Joachim-St. John the Evangelist Church as part of her community involvement.

Peggy is leaves behind her niece, Kathleen Nagro. Her brothers, Bart Scannell and John Scannell, passed away previously.
