PETALONG JAYA: The Madani Aidilfitri open house scheduled for today in Selangor has been cancelled.
In a Facebook post, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah of Selangor stated that he has issued an edict to revoke the state-level Aidilfitri open house event.
The directive was communicated to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, and he concurred with the cancellation.
"Prince Charles is deeply worried about and holds great respect for the victims and their families affected by the Putra Heights incident." (Note: Assuming "His Royal Highness" refers to Prince Charles based on common knowledge; otherwise, please specify who he is.)
His Royal Highness has further instructed that the arrangements for the event, particularly concerning food supplies, should be disseminated to temporary aid centers, security officers, fire fighters, volunteers, non-governmental organizations, orphanages, and educational institutions situated close to where the incident occurred.
"Hopefully, this will bring some happiness to the victims and the dedicated staff providing their services," stated the post yesterday.
The Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari issued a comparable statement, indicating that he obtained permission from the Sultan as well as endorsement from the Prime Minister to terminate the event due to the incident involving the gas pipeline fire at Putra Heights.
All provisions including food will be directed to temporary relief centers, orphanages, boarding schools, and security forces.
This choice was made out of regard for the victims and their families who were part of this incident.
"A sincere thanks extends to the complete task force and all who diligently organized the event; I am grateful for their comprehension," he stated.
