Tiger Woods Has sparked worry amongst golf enthusiasts due to his presence in a social media clip unveiling a new golf course in Augusta.
On Monday, it was reported that the individual, aged 49, has been tasked with designing a par-3 public golf course and constructing a new practice facility in Augusta, Georgia.
Woods missed the legendary Masters Champions Dinner at Augusta on Tuesday evening and will not be participating in the event this year as he proceeds with his recuperation. the Achilles tear that has cast further uncertainty over his career.
This marks the second occasion he has skipped this event; initially, he also missed it back in 2021 due to a severe car crash from which he nearly had his leg amputated, causing a delay of two months for his participation.
However, his appearance in a promotional video for his new course has raised eyebrows among fans, who have commented that his face appeared somewhat swollen.
In the video, Woods stated: "It's such an honor to be here and to experience this moment, being able to be part of Augusta National in a different capacity."
'Having the opportunity to create something that will make a difference in our community, something I genuinely stand behind, and being able to work alongside Augusta National—what an incredible privilege.'
'Thank you very much for letting us broadcast this together with you. This is an significant day for everyone at the TGR Foundation.'
'Being able to achieve this alongside Augusta, being bi-coastal and doing something at a location that has held great significance for me throughout my life.'
Other fans remarked: "He doesn't appear to be in good health."
Another addition was: 'What is happening to his face?'
Another chimed in with: "Did he get stung by a bee or what?"
In early March, Woods revealed that he underwent surgery to fix a torn Achilles tendon following an injury sustained during practice at his residence.
The golfer, a 15-time Major champion with five victories at Augusta, did not provide any timeframe for when he anticipates returning to competition.
However, just a few days following the announcement, Daily Mail exclusively revealed that the renowned golfer was involved with Vanessa Trump, who is the former wife of Donald Trump's son Donald Jr .
President Trump disclosed that Woods, whom he played a round of golf with in February prior to the Super Bowl in New Orleans, mentioned to him that he was dating Vanessa.
"He shared the news with me, and I responded, 'Tiger, that’s excellent, really excellent. I’m thrilled for both of you.' Allow them both to find happiness. Both of them deserve it," Trump stated to journalists at the Oval Office earlier this month.
Just four days prior to Woods meeting with Trump for their golf outing in February, he revealed the devastating news of his mother Kultida's passing away at 80 years old.
This led Woods to pull out of the Genesis Invitational the next week, stating that he was not mentally prepared for the tournament.
The athlete, who has won the Masters championship five times, will broaden his legacy in the Atlanta area, the place where he achieved his most significant victories during his playing career.
The Augusta National-funded renovation of Augusta Municipal Golf Course — known as the Patch for the vegetable gardens that once abutted the property — was a surprise even to the facility’s general manager and head professional when it was announced two years ago.
The Patch shut down at the conclusion of December as part of a scheduled 15-month renovation managed by architects Tom Fazio and Beau Welling.
The town’s golf course — located near an airport used by Masters participants who land via private jets — is set to resume operations next April.
When this happens, it will feature nine new short holes designed by one of the sport’s most exceptional players.
The par-3 course will be called The Loop at the Patch in tribute to the Augusta National caddies who would gather there to play golf—something they couldn’t do at the private club roughly five miles away to the north.
Short courses now form an important aspect of Woods' design collection. His initial project in the United States, known as Bluejack National, features a 10-hole short course named the Playground, where each hole spans between 35 to 105 yards in length. Additionally, he created another compact course located just opposite Pebble Beach, which was unveiled in 2021.
