In the fourth inning, St. Louis narrowed their lead down to just two runs thanks to Herrera’s home run. Later, when the Red Sox were ahead 13-6 in the ninth inning, they allowed three swift runs from St. Louis (thanks partly to two of their own errors), which prompted them to bring Aroldis Chapman into the game against Cooper Criswell. With Herrera stepping up to bat as the potential tying run, he ended up grounding into a double play, thus concluding the match.
