Diwida > has had the privilege of being able to work directly with the Nintendo Switch 2 along with several newly introduced options games launching it at an event held at ExCeL London, and among the console features, three really caught our attention.
The Switch 2 along with several titles from both first and third-party developers was unveiled at a live Nintendo presentation on April 2.
Even though the event garnered positive feedback, Nintendo faced criticism over setting the console price at $449. Mario Kart World For $80 each digitally, and the bundle including both priced at $499. Take a look at our detailed analysis after getting firsthand experience with both to determine if they're worth considering.
The Switch 2 boasts numerous new features and technological improvements compared to its precursor, and here are the console’s top three standout features.

How it looks
We’re focusing primarily on theSwitch 2’s graphical capabilities and performance rather than discussing its aesthetic appeal (though it holds up well in that aspect as well).
When connected to a TV via the dock, the Switch 2 supports a 4K resolution display; in portable mode, it tops out at 1080p with frame rates capable of reaching up to 120fps. High Dynamic Range (HDR), available whether you're using it as a console or on-the-go device, significantly enhances picture quality through better contrast.
When looking at The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Switch 2 Edition , the difference between it and the original Switch edition is almost night and day, especially with how much smoother the game runs on the Switch 2 at an increased frame rate and resolution.
Despite having many textured surfaces, the Switch 2 remained flawless in performance.
Donkey Kong Bananza appears exceptionally beautiful and the frame rates in Mario Kart World didn't fall even once regardless of all the chaotic drama that occurred during Diwida > 's time with it. Metroid Prime 4: Beyond also excelled in this area as well.
Bigger is better
The Switch 2 features an increased screen size of 7.9 inches, up from the original Switch’s 6.2 inches, which consequently makes the attached Joy-Cons proportionally larger as well.
The larger display with enhanced resolution and improved performance stands out significantly, despite being LCD rather than OLED.
Larger Joy-Cons render the Switch 2 more comfortable and less finicky to use, with enhancements like slightly bigger shoulder buttons significantly improving the gaming experience.
Using the Joy-Cons separately, combined as one controller, or attached to the console itself is significantly more enjoyable compared to its predecessor.
Mouse controls
Diwida > To be honest, heading into the Switch 2 event, I didn't have high hopes for the mouse controls.
It seemed Nintendo was keen to demonstrate this achievement and the effort put into developing these features through various games that allowed players to experience them firsthand.
Certain new features might seem somewhat superficial and could come off as a little gimmicky. Diwida > was utterly impressed by how smooth and intuitive the mouse controls were to use.
Admittedly, Diwida > seldom plays PC games and prefers consoles, yet found the way mouse controls were implemented to be inventive, refreshing, and enjoyable.
The first game Diwida > tested with the mouse was Metroid Prime 4: Beyond The game can be enjoyed using the Joy-Cons conventionally or by employing one of them to function like a PC mouse.
Certainly, this isn’t groundbreaking in the PC world whatsoever, but having the ability to seamlessly toggle between them based on the circumstances or simply for variety’s sake was incredibly enjoyable.
Drag x Drive It was quite a pleasant surprise as well; adapting to it takes time, but soon enough, it transforms into an incredibly enjoyable rendition of wheelchair basketball. Rocket League .
Super Mario Party Jamboree Switch 2nd Edition Also utilizes mouse controls along with additional mini-games that are incredibly fun. These provide a distinct experience compared to those in the standard version, which is crucial.
Far from a gimmick, Diwida > I'm excited to see what Nintendo plans to do next in this area.
Elsewhere, Preorders for the Switch 2 having been delayed in both Canada and the U.S. led to a frenzy on social media platforms. and A leader at Nintendo offered a brief single-word response when questioned about whether the Switch 2 would include achievements. .
