Several areas in the country will experience rain due to the Northeast Monsoon (Amihan) and shear line in the next 24 hours, PAGASA said Wednesday afternoon.

In its latest weather forecast, the state weather bureau said Visayas, Sorsogon, Masbate, Surigao del Norte, and Dinagat Islands will see cloudy skies with scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms due to the shear line.

Meanwhile, cloudy skies with rains will persist over Cagayan Valley, Apayao, Aurora, Quezon, and the rest of the Bicol Region due to the Amihan.

These moderate to at times heavy rains may trigger flash floods or landslides.

The Amihan will also bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains over Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon.

Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms will be observed throughout the rest of the country due to the easterlies.

These severe thunderstorms may cause flash floods or landslides.

State meteorologists also said winds will be strong while coastal waters will be rough over Northern Luzon and the eastern sections of Southern Luzon and Visayas.

The rest of Luzon will experience moderate to strong wind conditions and moderate to rough coastal water conditions.

Winds will be light to moderate while coastal waters will be slight to moderate throughout the rest of the country.
