  • EXPLORE FURTHER: MailOnline tests the initial temperature-sensitive color-shifting smartphone

Chinese company Lenovo has presented its newest laptop model, which might be its most unconventional design so far.

The ThinkBook 'Flip' AI The PC may appear as an ordinary laptop, were it not for the significantly enlarged display that is double the size of the chassis.

The screen is almost comically large at 18.1 inches tall—taller than a bowling pin or as wide as an extra-large pizza.

However, the screen can also fold backward along the center, allowing the user to share the display with someone sitting opposite them.

Lenovo claims that this unusual design element along with the built-in AI assistant make the device ideal for office gatherings, improving 'corporate teamwork'.

And if the user wants to watch Netflix or just doesn't need the keyboard, they can fold down the screen flat, covering up the keyboard.

'Eric Yu from Lenovo Intelligent Devices Group stated that the ThinkBook codenamed "Flip AI PC Concept" embodies our perspective on tomorrow's technology,' he remarked.

'AI-driven gadgets will enhance efficiency, customization, and cooperation as never seen before.'

Lenovo states that this striking laptop is merely a conceptual device, suggesting it probably won’t be available for purchase in the near future.

Nevertheless, this prototype provides insight into what future workspaces will employ to boost efficiency, as stated by the company.

Lenovo has manufactured the device in small batches, and MailOnline had the opportunity to see it in action at MWC in Barcelona on Monday.

When the ThinkBook 'Flip' AI At full size (18.1 inches), the PC monitor offers either a single large display or the option to use split-screen functionality for two smaller displays.

When folded back to share with someone across from you, the display adjusts so that the other person doesn’t see it upside down.

Users have the option to fold the upper portion of the screen completely backwards, leaving it unused, which makes the user experience resemble that of a traditional laptop more closely.

Even though it remains just an idea at this point, Lenovo is exploring a trend where consumers favor unusually tall displays.

An increasing number of employees favor vertical screens for scrolling news updates, extensive email threads, and TikTok-like mobile clips that are oriented vertically instead of horizontally.

At MWC two years ago It showcased a comparable laptop featuring an expandable display that grows longer and longer whenever you toggle a switch.

The 12.7-inch screen of the ThinkBook Plus Gen 6 Rollable AI PC can transform into a 15.3-inch display in just 10 seconds.
