
A man from Australia made an appearance in court earlier this week to respond to allegations of disorderly behavior related to an event in March where he supposedly struck the wall of the airport terminal while intoxicated. press release as reported by the Australian Federal Police (AFP).

The individual, who is 37 years old, was apparently quite drunk when he got onto the aircraft, causing the cabin crew to ask for him to be taken off the flight. During his conversation with personnel at the departure gate, the man supposedly turned "noisy and hostile" toward the team prior to him "smacking the wall near the boarding gate with an outstretched hand."

"Our airports represent a communal and secure environment, and both airport and airline personnel shouldn’t be burdened with handling drunk travelers, verbal harassment, or any other misconduct," stated the AFP. The organization further noted that the individual involved declined to provide identification when confronted by law enforcement at the location. "We collaborate closely with our counterparts in the aviation sector to take action whenever someone exhibits hostile conduct within or near an airport premises," the statement ended.
The Perth Magistrates Court has accused the individual of two offenses: one count of behaving disruptively in public and another of not adhering to an official’s directive. Given that each accusation carries a top fine of $6,000, he could potentially face fines totaling up to $12,000 due to his untimely misconduct.
