On April 11, the pupils and faculty members at Dorsons School Complex in Tema Community One commemorated "Palm Sunday" through a street parade held on Friday.

Accompanied by the sounds of a brass band, the students waved palm branches and blossoms, recreating the biblical joyous welcome for Jesus Christ’s entrance into Jerusalem. This spectacle drew applause from several inhabitants of Tema Community One.

As stated by the educators, the Palm Sunday procession is included in the school’s initiatives aimed at raising awareness about Easter celebrations.

Miss Mavis Asare, a educator, informed GNA that it is crucial to foster the spiritual development of students along with their pursuit of academic excellence.

Miss Asare stated that 'Palm Sunday' serves as more than just a Christian tradition; it also symbolizes humility, sacrifice, and the strength of peace during Jesus's arrival in Jerusalem.

She emphasized that it was their responsibility as educators to impart these values to children so they could understand who Christ was and the purpose behind his death for humanity.

Ms. Agustina Addo, another educator, mentioned that the institution was observing Palm Sunday on Friday because they would be closing down prior to the actual date.

Miss Addo mentioned that they consistently acknowledged the significance of Jesus Christ’s passing and the advantages it brought, encouraging Ghanaians to foster peace and unity throughout the Easter period, irrespective of their faiths.

She appealed to the public, particularly Christians and Muslims, to utilize this period for reflection, fostering love, and coexisting peacefully with members of different faiths.
