
New Delhi [India], May 5 (ANI): The Haryana Cabinet, which met under the Chairmanship of Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini , here today accorded approval to the Haryana AI Development Project ( HAIDP ) for the period 2025-2028, with a total outlay of Rs 474.39 crore. The Cabinet also approved the constitution of a Special Purpose Vehicle ( SPV ) for the execution of externally assisted initiatives.
The HAIDP is seen as a strategic move to place Haryana As a central node for AI-driven advancement, this initiative is slated for execution across a span of three years (2025-2028), receiving both technological and monetary backing. The main elements of the Haryana AI Development Project ( HAIDP include the creation of essential infrastructure like the Global Artificial Intelligence Center (GAIC) in Gurugram and the Haryana High-Performance Advanced Computing Facility (HACF) in Panchkula The project similarly emphasizes skill development And facilitating workforce transitions for more than 50,000 experts in AI, machine learning, and data science. Other goals encompass integrating AI into governmental operations and services based on data analytics; supporting startups and research and development via incubation programs, mentorship, and shared computational resources; as well as fostering collaborations between government entities and private sector companies within the realm of AI.
The project will utilize the Program-for-Results (PforR) funding mechanism, where payments will be tied to meeting specific Disbursement-Linked Indicators (DLIs). These indicators will be validated by a designated independent body.
To guarantee successful execution and intersectoral collaboration of externally funded initiatives, a Special Purpose Vehicle ( SPV It will be set up under Section 8 of the Companies Act, 2013. The establishment of the SPV Was approved by the Standing Finance Committee (SFC-C), led by the Chief Minister, on April 17, 2025.
The SPV Will function as a non-profit organization, with the Chief Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister acting as its Chairperson. HARTRON will serve as the focal point agency tasked with overseeing all aspects and protocols associated with the establishment of the organization. SPV as per the Companies Act of 2013. (ANI)
