White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt on Friday, they mocked a court decision that instructed the Trump administration to enable the return of an individual who had been deported.

U.S. District Judge Paula Xinis directed the administration to secure the liberation of Kilmar Abrego Garcia from the well-known CECOT prison in El Salvador and return him to the U.S. Abrego Garcia is a Salvadoran citizen who was arrested In Baltimore on March 12, after quitting his job as a sheet metalworker to fetch his five-year-old child, this incident occurred. It is claimed by the government that Abrego Garcia is affiliated with the MS-13 gang. However, according to legal documents submitted on Monday, attorneys representing U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement stated that Abrego Garcia’s deportation was caused by an "administrative mistake."

Abrego Garcia was among over 260 international individuals apprehended in the U.S. and expelled to El Salvador for incarceration. The majority of those deported were individuals from Venezuela with no obvious ties to the Central American nation. It appears that none of those detained were afforded proper legal proceedings.

"The documentation shows that Abrego Garcia was detained in Maryland without a valid reason… and was deported to El Salvador without additional proceedings or legitimate justification," Xinis stated in her report. order following his characterization of the deportation as "an unlawful action."

In reaction, Leavitt strongly criticized the decision and rejected the notion that the judge had any legitimate grounds for making such a ruling.

"We have not been made aware of the judge possessing jurisdiction or authority over the nation of El Salvador," Leavitt stated.

White House adviser Stephen Miller Xinis was mocked on X for saying she "believes she's the president of El Salvador."

Regarding that, the President of El Salvador Nayib Bukele also mocked the judge’s ruling.

The White House has indicated that the administration thinks that after an individual is deported from the U.S., federal courts have no power to mandate their readmission—even for cases where the government admits they were wrongly expelled. It remains uncertain whether the administration feels this stance applies equally to American citizens who face deportation.
