While it isn't as adaptable as the aforementioned mirrorless cameras because you cannot expand your lens selection over time and it lacks the extensive manual controls, this camera makes up for it with its impressive zoom capabilities suitable for photographing bright outdoor scenes involving wildlife.

 The similar
 Panasonic Lumix FZ1000
 doesn't offer as much zoom (approximately equivalent to 400mm considering the crop factor), yet boasts a significantly larger sensor, which makes it superior for shooting in dim conditions or capturing swiftly moving subjects.

 We received significantly fewer insect bites while trekking through Alaskan forests compared to lounging in our backyard in the Midwest, though I realize this isn’t everyone’s experience. Mostly, we steered clear of problems by wearing loose, long garments (and my top-notch ExOfficio shirt).

 Journeying with insect repellent might pose some challenges. Should you travel to Alaska in June or July, consider purchasing it upon arrival or bringing along a compact container. Keep in mind that aerosols cannot be included in your checked baggage, and liquids for both personal items must not exceed 3.4 ounces per bottle.

 To prepare lunch during an activity, we used these containers to quickly assemble peanut butter sandwiches and baby carrots earlier in the day. We could then easily carry them for a picturesque drive, afloat excursion, kayak journey, extensive trek, or any other adventure.

 We're strong advocates of using reusable items, but we made an exception for plastic utensils. I used some individually wrapped ones that we typically get (but rarely use) from takeout orders, which turned out to be just what we needed. These even included napkins!
