On Saturday afternoon, as part of nationwide demonstrations, numerous residents from Yolo County filled the sidewalks along Main Street in front of Heritage Plaza and the Opera House to voice their opposition to President Donald Trump, Elon Musk, and the administration’s latest moves regarding government reduction, economic policies, human rights, and various other topics.

As a large demonstration was happening simultaneously at the state Capitol, people filled Heritage Plaza from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., sending a strong message of " Hands Off" to the present government.

As reported by ABC News, over 1,200 " Hands Off! " demonstrations were scheduled across the country by more than 150 different entities such as civil rights associations, trade unions, LGBTQ+ supporters, veteran groups, and proponents of unbiased elections. These events were set to take place at the National Mall in Washington, D.C., various state capitals, and multiple sites spanning all 50 states.

Heritage Plaza has hosted two significant anti-administration demonstrations recently. The initial event occurred on February 3rd, themed "A Day Without Immigrants." Following this, another rally was orchestrated by Brown Issues on March 8th in solidarity with undocumented immigrants.
