Mumbai (Maharashtra), India, April 11 (ANI): The trailer for 'Khauf,' a forthcoming horror film available on Prime Video, was released on the streaming service on Friday.

Boasting numerous eerie scenes, the show boasts an impressive ensemble cast featuring Monika Panwar, Rajat Kapoor, Abhishek Chauhan, Geetanjali Kulkarni, and Shilpa Shukla.

The story centers on Madhu (Monika Panwar), a young woman who moves into what appears to be an average hostel room in a large city, seeking a new beginning. However, as the trailer progresses, it becomes clear that a malevolent force is hiding inside the hostel’s walls.

As stated in a press release, what seems like a secure refuge quickly turns into an environment heavy with fear when the women on her level urge her to depart—although not one of them has the bravery to venture outside the hostel’s boundaries, held back by an indistinct horror.

As Madhu's past nightmares seep into reality, a shaman arrives, promising to rid her of the darkness. The trailer hints at a relentless psychological and supernatural struggle, where survival hinges on unearthing the truth before it consumes them all, the press note added.

Monika mentioned that portraying the lead character, Madhu, has been a captivating and strenuous endeavor, providing her with a broad spectrum of feelings and obstacles to explore deeply.

She is a character who progressively reveals herself as she confronts the incomprehensible terrors enveloping her, and conveying this sense of dread proved to be both difficult and highly fulfilling," Monika stated in the press release. "Matchbox Shots has played an essential role in molding Khauf’s eerie universe, establishing a platform for performances that resonate deeply with audiences.

She remarked, "'Khauf' creates an unnerving ambiance through its chilling imagery and overall environment, drawing viewers deep into its disturbing realm. Collaborating with Prime Video has been fantastic—it’s a platform dedicated to daring and enveloping narratives. I’m eager for audiences to dive into the thrill and fear as it launches on April 18th."

Khauf is scheduled to launch on an OTT platform on April 18. (ANI)
