 Nevertheless, if we rewind three months to early January, they were ranked third in the Atlantic division, battling against Florida for a more favorable playoff seeding position. At that time, Florida led them by five points. Just two weeks after that, their standing dropped out of the wildcard positions, and here’s where things stand now:

 All these qualities and even more shone through during Thursday’s victory over Anaheim, especially when Klapka assisted Kevin Rooney for an impressive goal in the second period.

However, this line has faced challenges due to unfavorable shot and save percentages. Despite enduring persistent issues with converting opportunities into goals, Frost finds himself well-positioned to improve now that he is flanked by two skilled forwards who excel at driving play forward. His breakthrough will happen soon enough.

 4. Joel Farabee demonstrates greater potential than what he has showcased since joining Calgary, yet his limited output post-trade remains challenging to overlook. By contrast, Matt Coronato tallied 12 during this period; Sharangovich secured nine, Frost notched eight, whereas both Rooney and Ryan Lomberg achieved six each. To conclude March, Dallas clinched two victories against the Seattle Kraken, thus completing a successful four-game away series and extending their win streak to six games. Additionally, they have gone undefeated in their last nine matches at 7-0-2, reducing the gap between them and the leading Winnipeg Jets to merely four points, despite having one less game played.

 Despite their recent dominance, Dallas believes their performance still isn’t up to par as they approach the playoffs.
</p>

 "The wins matter, but we're trying to get our game ready for the playoffs," center Matt Duchene said.  After getting back together with Nick Robertson and Bobby McMann, Kampf no longer has a guaranteed position as the Stanley Cup Playoffs approach in about a month.

 This season, Kampf has played in 52 games for the Maple Leafs, tallying four goals and ten points. His average ice time per game stands at 12 minutes and 25 seconds, marking his lowest since he began his career. With Laughton and Domi secured in contracts for the upcoming season, along with the likelihood of John Tavares potentially signing another deal with the team this summer, Kampf finds himself increasingly sidelined.

 The 30-year-old player from Czechia still has two years remaining on his contract, which pays him an annual salary of $2.4 million. For the 2025-26 season, Kampf holds a 10-team no-trade clause; however, he does not have any such protections during the last year of his agreement in 2026-27. It remains unclear whether Treliving intended to trade Kampf prior to this season’s trade deadline since he could have been considered a potential “throw-in” option due to his cap hit and because the Maple Leafs were reportedly interested in discussing trades involving him.

 It will ultimately depend on whether Treliving can secure a proper trading partner or utilize the off-season buyout option if the team wants to part ways with the experienced center. Naturally, any agreement should benefit Treliving, and he might show little interest in swapping Kampf unless additional incentives are included in the deal. Given the roughly $800,000 in potential salary-cap relief over the coming two years, if Treliving believes this funds could be more effectively allocated elsewhere within their roster, and Kampf no longer fits into the Maple Leafs' plans, then it wouldn’t be far-fetched to anticipate Toronto’s general manager severing connections with him.

 The 20-year-old goaltender steered his team to victory, blocking 21 shots in a decisive 4-0 win during Game 1, mere days after losing his father, Derek, suddenly.

 After guiding his team to victory against the Calgary Hitmen on Sunday, Meneghin learned of his father's situation. This win secured a division championship for Medicine Hat.

 “He’s got his father watching, which makes it quite special,” Desjardins remarked. “He’s delivered in these last couple of big matches; that requires a lot. Initially, I didn’t plan to put him in, but since he requested to play, I felt we should let him. My thoughts go out to his mother and all his relatives during this time—it was wonderful seeing him perform so well. The circumstances surrounding us right now are incredibly challenging.”

 Meneghin was chosen in the last round of the 2024 NHL Draft by the Tampa Bay Lightning. He joined the Tigers after being traded by the Lethbridge Hurricanes in October and recorded a 23-10-1-1 record throughout the season, along with a 2.58 goals-against average and a .900 save percentage.
