Reportedly, Real Madrid has made the signing of their top target a priority. Bournemouth defender Dean Huijsen this summer will be positioned ahead of William Saliba and Ibrahima Konate .

It has been learned that the Galacticos' sports executives are already mapping out plans for their team for the upcoming season and view the 19-year-old Spanish defender as a top candidate for securing a place in defense.

The central defensive role turned into Los Blancos The board's objective following multiple problems depleted the queue throughout this season.

Antonio Rudiger and David Alaba Both have skipped several key matches this season, whereas Eder Militão sustained a ruptured ACL in his right knee, keeping him out for the remainder of the season.

According to Marca , Madrid has stepped up their interest since Huijsen got his initial summons to join Spain's national squad, following an injury-induced withdrawal. Barcelona centre-back Inigo Martinez.

At first, the young player was slated to be part of the Under 21s team. However, his assured performances for Bournemouth this season made Luis de la Fuente believe that he can effectively partner with either Pau Cubarsi or future Real Madrid teammate Raul Asencio.

Madrid's defense continued to be the least solid part of their team, and even though Asensio showed improvement as a starter, Real Madrid is still looking to reinforce the central defender role.

Earlier reports indicated that Carlo Ancelotti is interested in bringing Saliba or Konate to Madrid, and these players are still being considered as options if Huijsen’s recruitment falls through.

Additionally, the report points out that Los Blancos aim to quickly secure the player’s signature to prevent a repeat of what happened last summer with Leny Yoro’s transfer being taken over by Manchester United.

It is thought that Huijsen could be available for as little as £50 million because of a release clause in his agreement.

Nevertheless, Madrid needs to think about the future of their present center backs since most of them remain contracted—like Alaba who is tied until 2026 or Militao until 2028.

Meanwhile, Bournemouth faces an enormous challenge in retaining several key players as they aim to secure a spot in the upcoming season’s Champions League.

Out of his 23 Premier League matches this season, Huijsen began as a starter in 18 games and managed to score two goals.
