A Nigerian-born Premier League star is said to be keen on meeting with Super Eagles manager Eric Chiele to talk about his possible future with the national squad.

The ex-Mali manager, who has also been in discussions with Arsenal's young talent Ethan Nwaneri and several others, is continuing his attempts to convince players with multiple nationalities to pledge their allegiance to Nigeria.

As the Super Eagles have had a sluggish beginning to their World Cup qualification matches, they face the possibility of not making it to the tournament for two times in a row.

Everton's midfield player requests a meeting with Chelleصند

Everton's midfield player Tim Iroegbunam has stated his wish to have a conversation with Super Eagles' coach Eric Chieleh about his potential involvement with Nigeria’s national team.

As reported by OwnGoal, the young player, who is 21 years old, has been performing exceptionally well for Everton this season and is keen on showcasing his skills with the Nigerian national team.

The ex-England U17 player, Iroegbunam, has featured in 15 matches for Everton this campaign and has stood out through his solid displays in midfield as noted by Transfermarkt.

An encounter between Iroegbunam and Chelle is anticipated to take place prior to the June international break, when Nigeria will be engaged in a tri-nation competition.

Coach Chelle is preparing for his third scouting trip to Europe aimed at connecting with Nigerian-eligible players, which will offer a chance for direct discussions with Iroegbunam. A spokesperson shared this information through OwnGoal.

Tim has approved the concept, leaving the scheduling to Chelle. In the upcoming days, she will embark on a European tour aimed at discussing this proposal with several footballers of Nigerian origin about representing the Super Eagles.
“An upcoming meeting anticipated towards the end of the season when the Super Eagles will reportedly be in London for an invitation tournament featuring Trinidad and Tobago, Ghana, and Jamaica.”

In the 2024/25 season, Iroegbunam has registered one assist across 15 games and received three yellow cards.

Agu plans to switch from Germany to Nigeria

The Super Eagles' manager, Eric Chelle, is apparently planning to include an additional defender named Felix Agu in the team roster for upcoming friendly matches in June.

Discussing his upcoming aspirations, the young man mentioned that he considers the Super Eagles shirt to be among the most esteemed jerseys globally.

The ex-VfL Osnabrück player highlighted how Nigeria has reshaped the international music landscape and stated through OmasportsTV:

I’d be happy to play for Nigeria. With talented teammates such as Ola Aina, Alex Iwobi, William Troost-Ekong, Ademola Lookman, and Victor Osimhen, it would be an incredible experience to make my dad proud by representing our heritage. This is genuine.

Chelle has been in touch with Adarabioyo

Diwida |.ng Earlier reports indicated that the Nigeria Football Federation has been collaborating with Chelsea’s defender Tosin Adarabioyo for some time now. It should be noted that he hasn’t represented England at the senior international level yet.

Adarabioyo previously rejected several offers, even before he signed for Chelsea as a free agent last summer following the expiration of his Fulham deal.

Recently, there have been claims that he is now willing to play for Nigeria, despite nothing having come of it so far, especially since the story broke in October when this was initially reported.
