Last week, a woman from Rosharon who died after being struck by a vehicle on the Gulf Freeway was attempting to assist the casualty of another deadly accident, according to law enforcement officials.
Tayler Ross, who is 31 years old, along with a companion, was making deliveries for DoorDash on March 29 when they came across a crashed Ford Focus obstructing the roadway near Wayside.
A unidentified car hit the Ford, resulting in the death of Mirtha Rodriguez Orgales Sai.
Ross' relatives mentioned that she encouraged her companion to stop the car and got out to examine the person who had been involved in the accident.
"I need to confirm there are no babies in that vehicle," she told her friend, and then hurriedly crossed the highway," according to Ross' mother, Michele King.
According to police, a man operating a blue Mitsubishi veered off course attempting to evade collision with the Ford but struck it nonetheless, resulting in Ross’s death.
"I'd embrace him. I'd hold him close and pray that he won't bear this weight for the remainder of his days because it was completely unintentional," King stated.
The driver from Mitsubishi ended up at the hospital with only slight injuries and won't be charged, however, law enforcement officials continue their search for the motorist who initially struck the Ford Focus.
"Regardless of whether that individual is male or female, they know their own identity. This leaves me without words since at this stage, it completely depends on them if they choose to come forward," King stated.
Ross left behind a 6-year-old daughter.
