In New Delhi, an early morning Aarti took place at the Shri Aadya Katyayani Shaktipith Temple in Chhatarpur on the sixth day of the nine-day Chaitra Navratri celebration on Thursday.

At the same time, the morning Aarti ceremony was conducted there as well. Jhandewalan Temple in the national capital.

On Wednesday, the festivities for the fourth and fifth days of Navratri were observed, and Goddess Durga was venerated as Mata Kushmanda and Mata Skandamata.

According to Hindu mythology, Lord Brahma , Vishnu Ganesha and Shiva pooled their abilities to bring forth Goddess Katyayani. Renowned also as Mahishasurmardini or Maa Katyayani, she defeated the demon Mahishasura. Considered one of the fiercest manifestations of Maa Durga, she has four arms and is depicted riding a lion.

Navratri, translating to 'nine nights' in Sanskrit, is a Hindu celebration festivities dedicated to Goddess Durga And her nine forms, commonly referred to as Navdurga.

Hindus celebrate four Navratris annually; however, just two—Chaitra Navratri and Shardiya Navratri—are extensively observed since they align with seasonal transitions. Across India, Navratri festivities vary greatly in form and custom.

The nine-day celebration, also referred to as Ram Navratri concludes with Ram Navami, celebrating the birth of Lord Rama. During this festival, each of the nine days is dedicated to one of the nine avatars of the goddess 'Shakti.'

The festival is observed with immense dedication throughout India, involving ceremonies and invocations dedicated to the deity in her multiple manifestations.

The Akashvani Aradhana YouTube channel will feature a series of special programs running from March 30 through April 6 in celebration of Navratri.

According to an announcement by the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, the channel will showcase a specially selected lineup from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM every day to honor each date’s importance. Furthermore, Shakti Aradhana will air daily from 8:30 AM to 8:40 AM, offering sacred performances to viewers."

The Navratri festivities will conclude with an elaborate live event for Ram Janmotsav, streaming live from the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple in Ayodhya. This exclusive telecast is scheduled for April 6th between 11:45 AM and 12:15 PM, allowing viewers nationwide to experience these sacred celebrations. (ANI)
