ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) — Deputies from the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office apprehended a male individual who allegedly possessed several pounds of narcotics.

Victor Gutierrez, who is 34 years old and from Rockford, faces charges related to the manufacture and distribution of cocaine, ecstasy, and marijuana.

The Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office reports that they have received numerous tips from locals over recent weeks regarding drug trafficking activities in the Rockford region.

The deputies pinpointed Gutierrez as their prime suspect.

On April 3rd, which was a Thursday, members of the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Narcotics Unit located Gutierrez inside a car at the intersection of Lapey Street and proceeded with his arrest. According to law enforcement officials, both cocaine and an extensive sum of cash were discovered within the same vehicle during their search.

The probe prompted law enforcement to obtain a search warrant for a residence located on the 2700 block of Lapey Street. Authorities report discovering cocaine, MDMA (ecstasy), and marijuana within the premises.
