The firm aims to enter the market for medium-sized trucks.
Last year, Kia launched its inaugural pickup truck, named the Tasman. However, this model will be available solely in regions such as Europe and Australia, excluding the United States. Nonetheless, this does not indicate that Kia has abandoned thoughts of introducing a pickup designed specifically for the American market.
In an interview with Automotive News At this year's Seoul Mobility Show, Kia CEO Ho Sung Song stated that the company is "actively considering" introducing a pickup truck to the US market.
Next week will bring us more information regarding the US pickups. However, broadly speaking... we are currently examining the situation.

2025 Kia Tasman
The CEO stated that Kia won't just bring the Tasman To America. This particular truck was not designed with the U.S. market in focus, and significant modifications would be required to make it compliant with American road standards and legal requirements. In all likelihood, Kia may aim to enter this segment by developing an entirely new offering that could rival models such as the Chevrolet Colorado, Ford Ranger, and Toyota Tacoma.
Kia recently entered into an agreement with General Motors For collaborative development, this implies that both sides might potentially join forces to create a new pickup vehicle. There are also speculations suggesting that Hyundai may receive its own variant of the very same truck.
On April 9, we will gain further insights when CEO Ho Sung Song delivers an official statement during Kia’s Investor Day event. Hopefully, this might lead to seeing Kia’s latest pickup truck on U.S. streets within the coming years.
