 Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has cautioned global leaders against remaining indifferent following a Russian air raid that struck his hometown of Kryvyi Rih, resulting in 18 fatalities.


 In his nighttime video message on Saturday, Zelensky stated that this strike represents one of the most tragic episodes for Kryvyi Rih,


 On Saturday morning, the president provided further information regarding the nine children who lost their lives due to the attack. Among those who died were 3-year-old Tymofij, 7-year-old Arina, and 9-year-old Herman, as stated by Zelensky on X.


 Nine individuals also lost their lives when a Russian ballistic missile struck the southeastern city of Kryvyi Rih, succeeded by a drone assault, according to Zelensky.


 Zelensky stated that the attack struck a regular street within a residential neighborhood containing a playground, stores, and a restaurant. According to him, 62 individuals were wounded, among them 12 children, and several remain in serious condition.


 The President of Ukraine expressed gratitude to foreign ministers and embassies for their expressions of sympathy following Friday’s attack. Nevertheless, he mentioned that the reaction from the US embassy was “unexpectedly disheartening.”


 "They are even afraid to say the word 'Russian' when talking about the missile that killed children," Zelensky wrote.


 On a post on X, the U.S. ambassador to Kyiv, Bridget Brink, conveyed her shock over the incident where "a ballistic missile hit close to a playground and restaurant in Kryvyi Rih."


 “Remaining quiet about the reality that Russia is murdering children using ballistic missiles is both incorrect and perilous,” Zelensky stated in his video message. “This merely encourages the vile individuals in Moscow to perpetuate the conflict and persistently dismiss diplomatic efforts.”


 Moscow has acknowledged the assault but referred to it as a " precision strike" that targeted Ukrainian leaders and their Western advisors. The Ukrainian General Staff in Kyiv countered this assertion via a Telegram message, labeling Russia’s statement as false.


 Photos of the attack site released by Ukraine did not indicate any presence of military objectives.

 Ukrainian Defence Minister Rustem Umerov reported on Sunday that discussions between American and Ukrainian representatives in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia, had been both "fruitful and concentrated," tackling crucial topics such as energy among others.


 In a social media post on platform X, Umerov, who headed the Ukrainian delegation, highlighted that President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s objective is to achieve “a fair and enduring peace” for both Ukraine and Europe as a whole, stating, “Our efforts aim to turn this vision into reality.”


 According to the Ukrinform news agency, the Ukrainian delegation comprised State Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Oleksandr Karasevych, First Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration Pavlo Palisa, and his counterpart Ihor Zhovkva, along with Deputy Minister for Energy Mykola Kolisnyk.


 Palisa verified on the same day that they would not be meeting with the Russian delegation in Riyadh.


 During a video message on Sunday night, Zelenskyy stated that the discussions between U.S. and Ukrainian representatives earlier that day had been "highly fruitful." He further urged all involved parties to keep up the pressure on Russia with the aim of securing an actual ceasefire from their side.


 The discussions occurred nearly two weeks following an earlier meeting between both parties in Jeddahl, a port city in Saudi Arabia. During this session, Kyiv consented to a one-month truce suggested by Washington, contingent upon the United States resuming its supply of military assistance and intelligence sharing with Ukraine.

 Significantly, the discussion occurs before the negotiations between the American and Russian teams, set for Monday.


 According to a Russian presidential aide, the Kremlin’s team comprises Grigory Karasin, who chairs the committee on international affairs in Russia's upper house, as well as Sergey Beseda, an advisor to the chief of Russia's Federal Security Service.


 The discussions take place only a few days following Zelenskyy accusing his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, of obstructing cease-fire attempts while still behaving like an "aggressor." Even though both leaders concurred with the idea of implementing a restricted truce, Russia has continued its assault on Ukraine without stopping; instead, their attacks have become more intense.


 On Friday, during an EU summit held in Brussels, there was renewed emphasis on strengthening Europe’s defenses. The leaders from the European Union concurred that all 27 member states should have full self-defense capabilities against potential aggression from Russia by the year 2030.


 Special Envoy Steve Witkoff is heading the US delegation in Saudi Arabia. In discussions with American media, Witkoff expressed his skepticism about the concerns that Putin aimed to seize additional territories in Europe.


 “I simply do not believe that his intention is to conquer all of Europe. The circumstances today are quite distinct from those during World War I and World War II, primarily because back then there wasn’t a NATO,” he stated.

 He added that his sole focus is to implement "his boss" US President Donald Trump's agenda and bring an end to the conflict.


 Trump said on Saturday that efforts to stop further escalation between Russia and Ukraine were “somewhat under control”. He also stated that he hopes the Riyadh talks offer a breakthrough to finally bring Russia's war, now in its fourth year, to a close.

 The Russian defense ministry stated that their forces took out 57 Ukrainian drones during the night, with 35 of these being intercepted over the Kursk region near the border.

 SHOT mentioned that the Kavkazskaya oil transshipment terminal serves as a crucial hub intended for transferring Russian petroleum via rail and integrating it with the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC) pipeline network for export purposes.


 Reuters was unable to confirm the SHOT report independently.


 Russia's aviation watchdog Rosaviatsia said that for a couple of hours overnight flights were
 suspended from airports in Kazan, Nizhny Novgorod and Nizhnekamsk, Russia, all hundreds kilometres east of Moscow,
 to 'ensure air safety'.


 The agency did not say what was the reason for the suspension, but it usually suspends flights when there are reports of drone attacks.

 The Ukrainian Armed Forces have eliminated more than 850 hostile objectives. Both aviation and drone divisions conducted numerous air strikes against Russian locations, as reported by the Ukrainian Air Force.


 
 From March 10 through March 16, the Ukrainian Armed Forces sustained their offensive operations against aerial dangers and managed to neutralize over 850 hostile entities. The targets eliminated encompassed the following:

 Between March 15 and March 16, Russian forces suffered approximately 1,400 casualties at the front line. Additionally, the Ukrainian Armed Forces took out 78 artillery systems, 180 tactical-level unmanned aerial vehicles, and 113 military vehicles.
