 WASHINGTON, D.C. — On Friday, U.S. President Donald Trump prolonged the deadline for TikTok to secure a purchaser who isn’t from China before facing a prohibition within the country. This extension provides an additional 75-day window for them to resolve this matter.


 "Our administration has been putting in significant effort to secure a deal for TikTok, and we've achieved remarkable progress," Trump stated on Truth Social, mere hours before the deadline was set to lapse.


 Completing a transaction involves considerable effort to secure all required approvals. Therefore, I am issuing an Executive Order to maintain TikTok’s operations for another 75 days.


 The widely used video-sharing application, boasting over 170 million users in America, now faces potential shutdown due to a new U.S. legislation enacted last year. This law mandates that TikTok must separate from its parent company, ByteDance of China, failing which it will be forced to close operations within the United States.


 Trump has insisted his administration is near a deal to find a buyer for TikTok and keep it from shutting down that would involve multiple investors, but has given few details.


 ByteDance confirmed ongoing discussions with the U.S. government to find a resolution but emphasized that several important issues still needed addressing.


 "A contract has not been signed," and anything agreed upon will require "approval according to Chinese law," the firm further stated.


 Driven by concerns over national safety and the belief in Washington that TikTok is under the control of the Chinese government, the prohibition came into force on January 19. This was just a day prior to Trump’s inaugural ceremony, and during this time, ByteDance did not make an effort to seek out potential buyers.


 TikTok briefly went offline in the United States and was removed from app stores, much to the disappointment of countless users.


 However, the GOP president swiftly declared a preliminary 75-day extension, which led to TikTok being reinstated for users. It then returned to both the Apple and Google app stores in February.


 The revised 75-day extension moves the due date to June 19.


 Trump has consistently minimized the threats facing TikTok, asserting his belief that a purchaser for the app’s operations in the U.S. will be found.


 On Friday, the president also stated that he plans to "keep cooperating sincerely with China." The Chinese government must approve this deal.


 The president proposed that TikTok might be included in an extensive agreement with China to alleviate the harsh tariffs he implemented against Beijing as part of a global surge in taxes.


 "We aim to prevent TikTok from going offline. We anticipate collaborating with TikTok and China to finalize the agreement," he stated additionally.


 As per reports, the proposed plan involves current American investors in ByteDance maintaining their holdings as part of a newly established standalone international TikTok entity.


 Additional American investors such as Oracle and Blackstone, the private equity company, would join to decrease ByteDance's stake in the new version of TikTok.


 A lot of TikTok's operations in the United States are already managed throughOracle servers, and the firm’s chairperson, Larry Ellison, has been a consistent supporter of former President Trump.


 On Friday, ABC News stated that Walmart was part of the competition, driven by a last-minute show of interest from rival retailer Amazon to acquire the application.

 Several news outlets indicate that the new firm might obtain the algorithm from ByteDance under a licensing agreement, with ByteDance still being involved in TikTok.

 Donald Trump’s approval rating has dropped to 43%, the lowest since he resumed his presidency, according to a Reuters/Ipsos poll. This decline comes as Americans respond to contentious tariff decisions and his approach to a military operation in Yemen.


 The survey lasting three days concluded on Wednesday indicated that Trump’s presidential approval rating dropped by 2 percentage points compared to the poll taken from March 21-23. Additionally, this represents a decrease of 4 percentage points from his initial approval rate of 47%, recorded right after he assumed office on January 20.


 Trump registered his highest first-term approval rating, 49%, shortly after he took office in January 2017. His lowest first-term rating was 33% in December 2017. His overall approval remains stronger than it was for most of his first term.


 Democratic President Joe Biden, who preceded Trump in the White House, saw his approval ratings drop to their lowest point at 35%, shortly before last November's presidential election.


 Participants rated Trump unfavorably on his management of the economy, as only 37% agreed with his approach. Additionally, 30% endorsed his efforts to tackle the high cost of living, a challenge that similarly affected Biden.


 Approximately half of those surveyed—52%—concurred with the assertion that raising import duties on vehicles and automotive components, which were set to be implemented as part of President Trump’s latest trade policy announced on Wednesday, would adversely affect individuals near them. A similar proportion indicated that imposing higher tariffs would result in more negative consequences than benefits. Around one-third of U.S. citizens, predominantly members of Trump's Republican party, expressed disagreement with these claims regarding potential harms caused by increased tariffs.


 Since assuming office, Trump has orchestrated a flurry of policy shifts, resulting in the dismissal of almost 200,000 federal employees and the disruption of long-standing U.S. diplomatic practices.  The state capitol should be removed, as he has received complaints regarding the image and alleges that it was "intentionally altered" to portray him unfavorably.


 The painting of the portrait took place during Mr Trump's first term and it was revealed in 2019.


 The Colorado Republican Party managed to raise over £8,360 ($10,000) via a GoFundMe campaign to fund an oil painting by Sarah Boardson. This same artist previously created the portrait of ex-president Barack Obama for the state capitol.


 At the time, one Trump supporter commented that the portrait "treats him very fairly."


 However, in a Sunday evening posting on his Truth Social platform, Mr Trump stated that he would rather have no image displayed at all instead of the one currently hanging in the Colorado statehouse.


 "No one enjoys seeing an unflattering image or portrait of themselves, yet the depiction in Colorado at the State Capitol, installed by the Governor alongside those of all other presidents, was deliberately altered to such an extent that, even I, might not have witnessed anything like it before," Mr Trump penned.


 The painting remained hanging on Monday morning.

 The meeting at the White House turned acrimoniously into a heated verbal confrontation among Zelenskyy, Trump, and U.S. Vice President JD Vance. This altercation resulted in Zelenskyy being hastily removed from the premises before he could share the stage with Trump for the scheduled press conference.


 Usyk secured the WBC heavyweight championship following his victory over Tyson Fury in Riyadh during May.


 The victory crowned Usyk as the first undisputed heavyweight champion since Lennox Lewis in 1999. In December, they faced each other once more, with The Cat securing his second verdict against the Gypsy King.

 US President Donald Trump revoked access to classified information for officials in the Biden administration. The document states that this decision was made due to threats to national interests, according to the White House press office.


 Trump made the decision to revoke access to classified information for 15 high-ranking officials, including former Secretary of State Antony Blinken, National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan, Vice President Kamala Harris, former politicians, and family members of Joe Biden.


 In the relevant memorandum, Trump stated that access to classified data for these individuals no longer aligns with US national interests.


 The list includes former Secretary of State Antony Blinken, Jacob Sullivan, Lisa Monaco, Mark Zaid, Norman Eisen, Letitia James, Alvin Bragg, Andrew Weissmann, Hillary Clinton, Elizabeth Cheney, Kamala Harris, Adam Kinzinger, Fiona Hill, Alexander Vindman, Joseph R. Biden Jr., and any other member of Joseph R. Biden Jr.’s family.


 This decision concerns not only those with access to intelligence briefings or the president’s daily briefing but also those who had access to classified information through their work in the government or private sector.


 In accordance with the decision, the president has instructed all heads of US executive departments and agencies to take necessary steps to revoke security clearances for the listed individuals and to suspend their access to government facilities without escort.


 If access to classified information was granted through private organizations, government agencies are to notify these organizations of the clearance revocation.


 It’s worth recalling that US President Donald Trump revoked access to classified data for his predecessor, Joe Biden. Referring to a report, he noted that the former president has memory issues, making him untrustworthy with confidential information.


 Additionally, according to the current president, Biden "set a precedent" in 2021 when he ordered the Intelligence Community to restrict Trump’s access to national security information.

 has come back to haunt CEOs and investors who are once again paying the price for
 the instability he is bringing back to the markets.


 In a column for MSNBC, personal finance expert Helaine Olen wrote that the putative financial experts who oversee investment houses placed their bets on Trump for a second time believing they could profit even more during his second term than under a Democratic administration
 only to find out they bet wrong
 .


 As Olen explained, it was common knowledge that former president can be erratic and a bringer of chaos and now the country is seeing a repeat of his first sting in the Oval Office.

 Calling Trump a "chaos monster," she pointed out "he’s embraced chaos as both an economic and governing strategy" which she claimed is a "risky way" to oversee the U.S. economy.


 Writing, "We are — or were — considered a stable country as well, where the rule of law is enforced fairly and consistently. Financial markets and businesses crave stability and predictability; they react poorly to chaos and political favoritism," she added, there is a "pervasive myth that Republicans are better for the economy than Democrats. Nothing could be further from the truth."


 Elaborating that "
 Nine out of the last 10 recessions
 — including each of the last five — have begun with a Republican sitting in the Oval Office," Olen pointed out, "Even as inequality soared to near-record levels, many of the wealthiest Americans — from Wall Street to Silicon Valley and everywhere in between — have insisted they were the
 true victims
 , lashing out at the Biden administration and complaining about any regulation or possible tax increase. These supposed financial experts let their greed and pique blind them to the reality that always was and always will be Donald Trump."

 According to the CBS/Yougov survey, 48% agree with Trump’s approach to managing the economy, while 52% disagree.

 During an interview with NBC on Sunday, US President Donald Trump threatened to impose "additional tariffs on oil, on every barrel of oil originating from Russia."


 Trump said he was "very angry" and "pissed off" with Russian President Vladimir Putin after the latter criticised the leadership of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, putting his credibility into question. Trump said that Putin's comments were “not going in the right location.”


 Putin had suggested
 on Friday
 that Ukraine should come under temporary United Nations administration until an “appropriate” government could be chosen. This proposal was rejected by Washington, as Putin once more targeted the leadership in Kyiv and Zelenskyy, with the Kremlin persistently claiming they are “illegitimate.”


 Offering further clarification on his thinking, Trump stated, "With new leadership, there won’t be a deal for a very long time, correct?"


 During the interview, Trump stated, "Should Russia and I fail to reach an agreement on halting the violence in Ukraine, and if I conclude that Russia bears responsibility—which may not be the case—but if I determine that Russia is at fault, then I will impose additional tariffs on oil exports from Russia."


 This marked a notable shift in approach toward Russia for Trump, who mentioned he planned to converse with Putin over the upcoming days.


 This month, Russia and Ukraine reached an agreement.

 Trump stated, “If they don’t make a deal,” he continued, “there will be bombing. It will be bombing the likes of which they have never seen before.”
