There are a lot of products in the market to compete against and many people just want quick fixes to their skin issues. But offering authentic solutions without cutting corners has helped remain true to the cause,” she says as we settle down for an interview inside her clinic, located along Mombasa Road. “My philosophy is simple: skincare is not about chasing perfection but nurturing health.”Sonnie’s fascination with skin began early. Growing up in a family of people with flawless complexions, she noticed peers in primary school grappling with acne, a stark contrast to her own experience. “People would ask, ‘What do you use? Your skin is perfect!’” she recalls. “I’d bring them what I used to apply on my skin, but it didn’t work. You should not share skincare products because each case is different and requires a different approach in treating. That frustration stuck with me.”This early desire to solve skin mysteries led her to Vera Beauty College, where she trained in cosmetology. Though skilled in both hair and skincare, her instructors quickly recognised her knack for the latter.“My principal said, ‘Your strength is skincare. Hone that.” She took the advice and later graduated with distinction. She then dived into internships, driven by a question: Why do some skins thrive while others struggle? A curiosity she continues to seek solutions to.Her approach is rooted in rigorous training.  "We plan to initiate digital marketing efforts, improve our social media strategy, and extend customer relationships beyond Java in the coming year," she said.
 
 
 Nikita mentioned during a Zoom call that the expansion is being discussed, and the flagship store might act as the cornerstone for expanding into larger markets.
 
 
 The beauty and personal care market in Indonesia is expected to expand at an annual rate of 4.3% up to 2030, starting from $9.7 billion this year, as reported by the German data platform Statista.
 
 
 Dearest Beautiful One, established in November 2017 with products that have undergone rigorous safety tests and hold Halal certification, currently serves 15 regions such as Sumatra, Kalimantan, and Sulawesi. In the past year, their physical store count grew by an impressive 50%.
 
 
 The company's expansion was credited to digital platforms, customer surveys, external studies, and personal engagements during live gatherings, according to Nikita.
 
 
 “Shopper feedback, such as color preferences and personalisation by naming products after individuals’ names, has been a key aspect of product development,” she said.
 
 
 "This guarantees that our offerings match consumer demands and assists us in keeping our products relevant despite the fast-changing trends and the lengthy development processes typical for beauty items," she explained.
 
 
 Market insights have also influenced pricing strategies. For example, Dear Me Beauty reduced the price of its Serum Lip Tint to about $3 to attract teenagers.
 
 
 "Originally, we aimed at customers between 20 and 25 years old, but this item enabled us to attract buyers as young as 14," Nikita explained. At that time, Dear Me Beauty's inaugural offering—a lip balm—was priced nearly double what it is now.
 
 
 Dear Me Beauty has leveraged cross-category partnerships to enhance brand visibility. Collaborations with brands such as Yupi candy, Sasa seasoning, Nissin wafers, and KFC have generated distinctive shopping experiences, thereby boosting consumer interest.
 
 
 “During our initial year of collaboration, the brand value multiplied ten times over, and sales grew eightfold from 2017 to 2019,” Nikita stated.

 They're some of the most beautiful women in the world.


 But who is the ultimate supermodel?


 Dr Julian De Silva, a facial cosmetic surgeon based in
 London
 , has used the Greek Golden Ratio of Beauty to uncover the 10 most beautiful supermodels in the world, according to science.


 'We all wonder who is really the most beautiful of all the supermodels and this is the closest we can get to an explanation based on facial symmetry and classically beautiful features,' Dr De Silva said.


 Kate Moss
 tops the list with an almost perfect score of 94.14 per cent.


 The 51-year-old icon's eyes, eyebrows, nose, lips, chin, jaw and facial shape were measured and came closest to the ancient Greeks' idea of perfection.


 Dr De Silva explained: 'What makes Kate so exceptional is her high scores across nearly all the categories but her two stand-out features were her almost perfectly shaped jawline which scored highest with 96.5% and chin (95.6%).'


 At the other end of the scale,
 Naomi Campbell
 , 54, came last due to her chin - which was said to have measured 'poorly'.


 To understand which faces are the most attractive, Dr De Silva, who runs the Centre for Advanced Facial Cosmetic and Plastic Surgery in London, used the Golden Ratio.


 This mathematical equation was devised by the ancient Greeks to measure beauty.


 The ratio can be applied to almost anything and was used by Leonardo Da Vinci for the perfect human male body in his famous work, the Vitruvian Man.


 The premise behind the Golden Ratio is that the closer the ratios of a face or body are to the number 1.618 (Phi), the more beautiful they become.


 All the models from the start of the supermodel era in the mid-1980s right through to the cover stars of today were assessed at their peak to determine who is the most beautiful.


 Dr. De Silva stated, "The models were selected based on the height of their popularity to ensure an even competition and provide us with the fairest method possible for assessing who embodied beauty as defined by the Golden Ratio."


 Not surprisingly, they all came very near to achieving a flawless score of 100 percent.


 Cindy Crawford, who is 58 years old, closely followed Kate Moss with a score of 93.86 percent.

 Dr. De Silva mentioned that Cindy Crawford, who emerged as one of the leading figures during the beginning of the supermodel era in the 1980s, ranked second with the top scores across three categories: her chin received a rating of 99.6%, merely 0.4% away from being perfect; her eye position scored 99.4%; and her forehead earned an impressive 98.6%.


 She could have emerged victorious if her score for her lip technique hadn’t been so low (84%).


 She was closely trailed by Gisele Bundchen, aged 44, and Jourdan Dunn, who is 34 years old.


 'Dr. De Silva stated that Jourdan Dunn is the most stunning among today’s generation of top models.'


 She performed exceptionally well in most of the categories and came very close to the top positions for her facial structure (97.1%) and eye placement (97.3%).


 She received lower marks due to the shape of her nose (88.9%) and her forehead (89%).


 On the opposite end of the spectrum were Emily Ratajkowski and Naomi Campbell, ranking ninth and tenth, respectively.


 "[Emily]'s nose has an almost perfect shape, scoring 99.56%, which is the highest on this list," stated Dr. De Silva.


 Although her lips scored second with 98.17%, her overall assessment suffered due to lower ratings for her eyebrows (79%) and her jawline (76.8%).


 'Naomi achieved the second-highest mark for her eyebrows at 89.9%, however, she received a lower score for her chin at 80.4%.'


 In his study, Dr. De Silva also identified which supermodel possessed the most appealing features including their nose, eyes, eyebrows, chin, lips, forehead, and overall facial structure.


 Winnie Harlow’s total facial score was the highest at an outstanding 98.6 percent, whereas Emily Ratajkowski’s nose achieved the top spot with a remarkable 99.56 percent.


 Gisele Bundchen possesses the optimal space between her nose and lips at 99.4 percent, whereas Cara Delevingne boasts perfect lips at 98.5 percent and eyebrows at 94 percent.


 Cindy Crawford secured the top spot with an impressive score of 99.6 percent for her chin, 99.50 percent for her eye position, and 98.6 percent for her forehead.


 Ultimately, Kate Moss' jawline ranked highest with a score of 96.5 percent.
