  It’s around five inches shorter and four inches lower than a Tesla Model Y, straddling the line between what we would call a crossover and a hatchback. It’s a four-door model with a liftback rear, and while it borrows design cues from
  the A110 sports car
  , it also shows where the brand’s design language is headed next.

  It shares its AmpR Medium platform with cars like the Renault Megane E-Tech or
  the Nissan Ariya
  , but it gets a bespoke suspension setup and much quicker steering. It features hydraulic bump stops that provide both improved comfort and better handling response. With a 49/51 weight distribution, Alpine chose to equip it with four-corner 365-millimeter rotors with six-piston calipers on the front.

 <p>
  DC fast charging at up to 190 kilowatts is enough for a 15 to 80% charging time of under 25 minutes, and its onboard charger includes vehicle-to-load (V2L) and vehicle-to-grid (V2G) functionality. Between its
  bidirectional charging
  capability and 18.8 cu-ft (532-liter) trunk, this may actually be a pretty good EV for camping, as long as the camping spot is not too far off paved roads.

This format offers greater insight compared to a straightforward linear contest because victory depends not only on raw power but also on skills like braking and maneuvering through corners. Thus, the challenge encompasses multiple aspects of performance beyond mere speed.

  The Charger boasts 670 horsepower, making it the stronger performer between the pair. Nonetheless, the BMW with its 593 horsepower tips the scales at over 700 pounds less than the Charger. This gives it an edge regarding power-to-weight ratio. The BMW claims a zero to sixty miles-per-hour acceleration under 3.4 seconds, narrowly besting the Dodge’s official figure by a tenth of a second; however, they're anticipated to deliver virtually matching quarter-mile runs clocking in roughly around 11.5 seconds each.

  In actual races between the two vehicles, several important observations emerge. Across the three attempts, the BMW consistently emerged as the victor, albeit by narrow margins.

  appeared to easily move ahead and keep maintaining its lead before reaching the turn. Additionally, it stops somewhat more effectively compared to the nearly 6,000-pound Dodge (though halting from high speeds with over 5,230 pounds isn’t simple). Furthermore, it performs predictably better when going through the curve.

  Despite the fact that during all three attempts the BMW consistently exits the turn ahead, the Dodge demonstrates superior speed when coasting and manages to close much of the gap. During the second attempt, which was nearly too close to call, the Dodge comes very near to overtaking the BMW. The outcome might have favored the Dodge if the race were extended slightly further. After each turn, both racers engaged their vehicles' corresponding turbo functions for an additional burst of energy; however, the Dodge appeared more powerful on the straights.

  When it comes to stopping power, neither of these vehicles excels; however, when considered as complete sporting packages, the BMW takes the lead. If you were to compare the i5 with the recently introduced four-door electric Charger, the extra mass of the Charger would likely make the advantage even more pronounced for the BMW.

 이 센터를 활용하여 도에서는 지역 내 기업들이 스스로 배터리의 안정성을 검사하는 방법을 시행하며, 동시에 기술 발전 및 제품 승인까지 모든 절차를 하나의 장소에서 해결할 수 있도록 하려고 한다.

수입차 시장, 전기차 대신 내연기관 및 하이브리드 차량 강화

 올해 후반기에 국내 수입 자동차 시장은 내연 기관 및 하이브리드 차량을 중심으로 진행될 것이라는 전망이다.

 6일 한국수입자동차협회(KAIDA)의 자료에 따르면 올해 1분기(1~3월) 동안 국내에서 등록된 신규 수입 차량은 총 6만 657대로 집계되었다. 이는 작년 같은 기간인 1분기에 등록된 5만 4583대보다 11.1% 늘어난 것이다.

 올해 수입차 브랜드들은 전기차보다는 내연기관 차나 하이브리드 차로 국내 시장을 공략할 것으로 보인다. 최근 출시된 주요 수입차 브랜드들의 신차들은 전기차에 집중한 경향이 있다. 전기차 수요가 정체되는 현상이 길어짐에 따라 내연기관 차나 하이브리드 차의 선택지를 넓히려는 것으로 추정된다.

 아우디코리아는 2017년 이후 약 7년 만에 신규 등록 대수가 9304대로 1만 대 아래로 떨어졌습니다. 회사 측은 국내 시장에서 판매량을 늘리는 노력을 다질 것이며, 이를 위해 작월 29일부터 '더 뉴 A5'의 사전 주문 접수를 시작했습니다. The vehicle packs ample power, and even after logging 71,900 miles with consistent usage, the Ioniq 5 hasn’t experienced significant problems. The only issue encountered was with the power charge door, which required repair at an authorized dealership.

  That needs to be eliminated. I have never encountered a gasoline vehicle equipped with a fuel door flap, and attempting to create one would be foolish. Adding a potential point of failure to an essential part without significant advantage is illogical, particularly since powered doors are less efficient to operate compared to traditional flaps.

  Still, the Ioniq 5 is proving to be a reliable car, even if Vargas skipped the 40,000 battery coolant flush that Hyundai recommends. That doesn't mean it's all good news, though.

  Vargas, like many other people, hates Hyundai's software suite. The smartphone app is bad and buggy, the infotainment system is middling and the mapping system is bad. His car doesn't get major over-the-air updates, either, so it's not getting better over time the way many EVs are. It used to get map updates, but even those didn't include all of the new chargers. That's annoying because the Ioniq 5 will only precondition the battery if you set a fast charger as your destination.
 </p>
 <p>
  He also called out another pain point: If you're expecting clear and consistent communication from the automaker itself, Hyundai doesn't really deliver.

 <p>
  Although his vehicle lacked the feared
  Integrated Charging Control Unit (ICCU) problem
  The company failed to effectively communicate with customers throughout that ordeal, and its dealers have earned a reputation for unreliability. According to Vargas, some dealers were apparently unaware of how to replace the Ioniq 5’s coolant, whereas others imposed exorbitant charges.

 <p>
  This serves as a solid overview of owning an electric vehicle from a manufacturer that’s still refining both its approach to making competitive EVs and developing software-defined vehicles. While Hyundai excels at one aspect of this formula, it hasn’t quite mastered the other yet. We look forward to the day they achieve full proficiency since their EVs generally excel across many areas. However, compared directly with consumer-focused competitors such as Tesla and Rivian, Hyundai and Kia may fall short primarily due to issues related to dealership experiences.
 </p>
 <p>
  Despite these concerns, the vehicle’s excellence and dependability make them easy to overlook. In my opinion, it remains among the top electric cars I suggest, and it’s certainly worthwhile to experience through a test drive.

  At first glance, this might appear reasonable – after all, gasoline vehicle owners contribute to funding road maintenance and development through taxes, so why not electric vehicle drivers as well? However, the situation is considerably more complex than it seems at first.

  An Indecent Proposal

  It's all about the heart.

  By Representative Sam Graves, who serves as the chairman of the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee from Missouri and represents the Republican Party. The legislation he has proposed will undergo review by the committee this coming Wednesday. This bill suggests implementing a federal registration fee specifically targeted at electric-drive vehicles—a sum of $250 for fully electric cars ($EVs) and $100 for hybrid models—as well as an additional $20 charge applicable to every vehicle starting in 2031.

 <p>
  According to calculations from the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), it appears that the average U.S. driver consumes approximately 550 gallons of gasoline annually. This leads to an annual fuel tax expenditure of roughly $101 per driver.
 </p>
 <p>
  It seems quite high for electric vehicle owners, doesn’t it? And indeed, it is. Paying $250 (up from the initial suggestion of $200) is akin to covering the cost of approximately 1,100 gallons of fuel with today’s gas tax rates. This amount roughly doubles what a typical gasoline-powered car consumes annually and isn't a single payment but rather yearly. Under this plan, the average driver would effectively pay the $0.184 per gallon tax on around 1,389 gallons of gasoline each year.
 </p>
 <p>
  Notably, the bill excludes commercial and government vehicles from paying any registration fees. This means that rental car companies, Amazon’s delivery trucks, and large Class 8 semitrailers won’t incur extra—or proportionate—costs, even though they use the road infrastructure much more intensively compared to typical commuters.
 </p>
 <p>
  If implemented, it seems the federal government would transfer the responsibility of collecting fees to the state where the vehicle is registered, compelling the state to collect the registration fee on their behalf.
 </p>
 <p>
  If a state chooses not to enforce the fee, the government will instruct the FHWA to deduct funds equal to 125% of the registration fees starting from 2027. However, the legislation does not specify an effective date for when it would be implemented.

  The Ask Is Justified

  Graves' suggestion isn't entirely without value, and it sounds somewhat more palatable than the

Hybrids still contribute when refueling, with their roughly $100 yearly registration fee being comparable to what an average petrol vehicle pays. Additionally, hybrid drivers continue to pay for fuel at the pump. Maintaining roads isn’t automatic; the concept behind pooling these funds ensures we both avoid encountering colossal potholes big enough to rival the Grand Canyon.

  As EV ownership continues to grow, it's worth noting that out of the 292.3 million vehicles on American roads, around 4.1 million (1.4%) are electric. This equates to roughly $415 million in missed tax revenue.

  The state compensates for this elsewhere, however. For instance, via a $0.0151 tax for each kilowatt-hour of electricity consumed.

  I fully support the idea that everybody should contribute fairly. Yes, yes—I understand people might grumble “taxation is theft” regarding nearly every tax issue. Even though parting with money isn’t enjoyable for me, I’ll readily acknowledge that I ought to pay the same fee as any other driver using public roads, irrespective of whether they’re operating a fuel-efficient vehicle or not.
 </p>
 <p>
  This represents a fair and balanced approach. However, this legislation (along with its rationale) is neither just nor equitable; instead, it penalizes electric vehicle owners simply for using an EV and inadvertently provides support for those not yet willing to switch from gasoline vehicles.
 </p>
 <p>
  Let's dig into that a bit more by time-traveling back to 1993. Bill Clinton had just taken a seat in the Oval Office,

  Was setting new standards at the box office and gasoline averaged only $1.11 per gallon. In that August, Clinton enacted comprehensive legislation that increased taxes by $268 billion—with part of this increase coming from raising the gas tax by $0.043 per gallon, boosting it from $0.141 to $0.184, which represented a rise of 30.5%.
 </p>
 <p>
  That raise sparked
  sharp criticism from politicians
  And the American public. Actually, during the Clinton administration,

  It has remained unchanged and continues to be so for an impressive span of 11,534 days, equivalent to 31.6 years. This duration stands as the longest gap in history since 1983, surpassing even 1959’s record-breaking halt on the gas tax at 23.5 years.
 </p>
 <p>
  When adjusted for inflation, the 1993 gas tax would equate to approximately $0.40 in today’s dollars, or

  Instead of increasing the gas tax, the government has opted to apply a massive $275 billion stopgap measure to the Highway Trust Fund using funds from America’s Treasury, otherwise known as the General Fund. This means we are still footing the bill for road maintenance, but through a more opaque method.

  This alignment would hold true if the $250 registration fee for electric vehicles matched what an average internal combustion engine vehicle owner pays. However, it exceeds that amount by over twice as much. Should fairness truly be their objective, as Graves and his team assert, the calculations ought to demonstrate this principle accordingly. Charging almost 1,400 gallons of gasoline worth in fees when the typical driver consumes around 550 gallons seems less concerned with actual equality and more focused on appearances.
 </p>
 <p>
  A more effective solution would be to reduce the suggested electric vehicle (EV) and hybrid registration fees so they align more closely with the road usage costs of internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles based on the current gas tax rates.

  Do what legislators seem hesitant to voice publicly: increase the gasoline tax. Imposing extra costs solely on electric vehicle owners without updating the taxation framework that originally funded road construction is unfair.

  Alternatively, maybe a more effective approach would be implementing a mileage-based charge. This way, both retail and commercial activities could be billed according to their usage.

Certainly, the driver who logged 30,000 miles on their vehicle incurred higher registration costs due to greater usage compared to someone with only 3,000 miles on theirs.  Investing in infrastructure is crucial as it forms a vital part of efforts to promote e-mobility adoption in Kenya. This initiative aims to facilitate the transition by providing necessary facilities for new users.

 Siror mentioned that among the 45 new electric vehicle charging stations being installed, six will be situated at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport.

 However, Kenya Power stayed silent about the locations of the remaining charging stations and the budget allocated for this initiative. Despite this, they emphasized the importance of cooperation among industry leaders to promote the uptake of the new technology.

That's way lower than the originally announced starting price of 270,000 yuan ($36,737). While you can't just convert the price to get a full picture—as tax differences, purchasing power parity differences and plenty of other caveats apply—the new price is still an extraordinary value. A

  The Han L sedan is available in three trim levels, with the highest-end model priced at 279,800 yuan ($37,935). This places the premium variant of this stylish, upscale sedan roughly $12,000 below the typical price point for vehicles in the United States.

  BYD "Blade" battery.
  Official range figures go from 373 miles (601 km) to 436 miles (701 km), though note that's on China's optimistic CLTC cycle. Real-world range will likely be worse, but with megawatt charging that's not much of an issue. BYD recognizes that most chargers won't be able to max out the "Super E" platform's charging capabilities, too, so it includes two charging ports for simultaneous fast charging. You can hook up two 500-kW chargers and leave every

 kicks off next week and Kia will use the event to introduce three “significant” vehicles. These range from a “sedan to SUV to something in between.”

 The company didn’t have much else to say about the vehicles, but teased they’ll “span distinct model lines” and offer two fully electric powertrains. Furthermore, one of them promises to be a “sporty and versatile approach in the compact car segment.”

 That’s pretty cryptic, but Kia released a teaser image of the US-spec
 EV4 sedan
 . The Korean model was unveiled earlier this year with 58.3 and 81.4 kWh battery packs that deliver a WLTP range of up to 391 miles (630 km).

<p>
 The car is based on the E-GMP platform and features a front-mounted motor producing 201 hp (150 kW / 204 PS). This enables the car to accelerate from 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) in as little as 7.4 seconds. When the battery is low, it can go from a 10-80% charge in as little as 31 minutes.

  Towards the end of last year, I was taken aback. However, that test drive of a prototype car was conducted too hastily for me to form solid opinions. After spending considerable time driving the company’s latest version, I can now speak with greater certainty about my thoughts from December: The Gravity stands out as the most comprehensive electric vehicle I have ever encountered.
 </p>
 <p>
  This three-row SUV accomplishes everything in an almost unbelievable way. It seems to defy physics as it handles like a sportscar but can still accommodate up to seven passengers comfortably. Despite its compact exterior dimensions compared to rivals, it offers astonishingly generous interior room. Adding to this impressive feat, it excels in every crucial electric vehicle metric, providing nearly unrivaled EPA range and performance.

  However, Lucid’s path with its initial vehicle demonstrates that possessing an excellent product is merely part of the challenge. Both theoretically and physically, the Gravity stands out as a remarkable achievement. There’s no doubt about that.
 </p>
 <p>
  The larger uncertainty lies in whether Lucid will manage to attract sufficient customers.
 </p>
 <h2>
  What Is It?
 </h2>
 <p>
  California-based Lucid Motors wowed electric-car nerds in late 2021 when the
  Air sedan
  arrived with a still-untouched
  520 miles of range
  and staggering performance.
 </p>
 <p>
  But Lucid’s debut product was hamstrung by being a four-door sedan, at a time when the car market largely shifted to SUVs and trucks. Lucid sold 6,000 Airs in 2023 and just over 10,000 in 2024. It’s solid growth for a newcomer, but not exactly the makings of a major car company. Lucid wants to conquer far more customers and make strides toward profitability with the Gravity, which features all of its impressive home-built tech, but in a bigger, more widely appealing package.
 </p>
 <p>
  The Gravity isn’t just a taller Air, though. It rides on a new platform with new motors and more energy-dense batteries. It’s built at Lucid’s factory in Arizona and technically
  went on sale in late December
  , with a limited quantity being sent out to clients near the company. Genuine deliveries to real customers are underway.

  The inaugural edition of the Gravity Grand Touring comes with a hefty price tag, particularly if you opt for extras such as a third-row seating option, 110-volt power outlets, and softly closing doors. However, it offers impressive performance features including an advertised output of 828 horsepower, acceleration from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.4 seconds, and a maximum driving range of up to 450 miles. For those looking for something slightly more budget-friendly, a touring variant will be available later this year priced approximately $15,000 lower.
 </p>
 <h2>
  What Is It Like To Drive?
 </h2>
 <p>
  A few weeks earlier,
  I put the Cadillac Escalade IQ through testing.
  It's incredible how distinctively these two three-row electric vehicles perform on the road. The massive Escalade maneuvers like an ocean liner. While it accelerates swiftly in a straight path and provides a smooth ride on highways, it falls short in almost all other aspects.
 </p>
 <p>
  On the contrary, driving The Gravity is incredibly enjoyable. You might easily lose track of having an entire SUV due to how nimble it is. The steering responds swiftly and accurately. No matter if you floor the accelerator, hit the brakes firmly, or take a tight turn, the Gravity remains stable and impressively composed. This is quite astounding considering it’s a spacious family vehicle rather than a sleek sports car or coupé.
 </p>

  They summed it up nicely by saying that the Gravity handles like a sports car confined within a minivan’s frame. This is particularly evident in the Gravity’s "Sprint" driving mode, which pulls the vehicle closer to the road, firms up its suspension, and sensitizes the gas pedal response. Additionally, there is a softer "Smooth" setting and a moderate "Swift" option available.

  It's incredibly swift, offering the seamless, easy acceleration characteristic of electric vehicles (EVs), with Lucid being notably skilled in this area. Even when cruising at high speeds on highways, you'll find an abundance of power readily available.
 </p>
 <p>
  Who genuinely requires a seven-seater SUV with handling like this? Not many people probably do. However, what's appealing is that the Gravity handles daily tasks effortlessly as well. The car’s adaptable air suspension lets you cruise through city streets smoothly, avoiding the bumpy ride often found in larger SUVs. Additionally, it remains quite silent inside. Thanks to its short bonnet, forward vision is top-notch, particularly when contrasted with taller, squarer rivals. It’s also worth mentioning that the blind-spot cameras which activate upon signaling turns add an extra layer of convenience.
 </p>
 <p>
  A point to consider: The test vehicle included the Dynamic Handling Package, offering rear-wheel steering and enhancing the distinction among its three driving modes. Therefore, my feedback doesn't cover the performance of the base model without these options.

  I usually stuck with the Goldilocks "Standard" setting, but you have the option to switch it to "High" or turn it off altogether.

  the Gravity’s squished steering wheel
  ? I actually liked this idea a lot. The “squircle,” as Lucid calls it, helps provide an unobstructed view of the SUV’s screen, while still being familiar enough that there’s no learning curve. The same can’t be said of yoke-style wheels from Tesla.

  A Massive Interior
 </h2>
 <p>
  I think the Gravity’s clown-car interior will rope in far more customers than absurd driving dynamics ever will. Because if there’s one issue that unites all Americans during this increasingly polarized moment, it’s a love for hauling as much crap as possible.

  This SUV boasts the charming feature of seeming much more spacious internally than its exterior suggests. This is due to its bright, mid-century style, along with excellent use of space.
 </p>

  Standing at 6 feet 1 inch tall, I easily fit into both the second and third rows, thanks to their level flooring and generous legroom. Compared to similar models, the rear seating offered even more space.

  Moreover, the Gravity offers nearly identical storage space—up to 120 cubic feet with the seats down—as the considerably larger Escalade. An oversized, eight-cubic-foot front trunk significantly contributes to this, along with an extensive rear compartment located beneath the floor.
 </p>
 <p>
  It can be difficult to visualize just how spacious a car is on the interior when measured only in cubic feet. Let me illustrate this for you instead: at the driving event, Lucid filled up a Gravity with cardboard boxes and invited me to see how many I could fit into an adjacent area.

  I have decent spatial awareness—if you require assistance moving a sofa up a narrow staircase, count me in—but I genuinely believed I could neatly fit all the boxes into the vehicle. However, after several minutes, the trunk of the EQS was completely full, leaving behind an unexpectedly sizable stack of unplaced boxes, roughly equal to about three overhead luggage pieces. Well played, Lucid.

  The design of the Air's user interface was visually appealing, yet lacked functionality and could be somewhat bewildering at points. In previous models, we've frequently encountered problems with the voice command system powered by Alexa. Additionally, Lucid lags behind several rivals regarding sophisticated driver-assistance features.

  I would tentatively suggest that the Gravity marks considerable progress in terms of technological advancements. Behind the steering wheel, there's an eye-catching curved 34-inch OLED display which offers vivid and sharp visuals. Below this, you'll find a bigger tablet-like interface that proves much easier to navigate at first sight compared to earlier models. This device also showcases smooth transitions synchronized with different driving modes, suspension configurations, and regeneration choices. Overall, the updated Lucid UX 3.0 appears more polished and unified when contrasted with previous versions seen in the Air model. However, it remains unclear if these improvements will be extended to their saloon vehicle counterparts.

  The route-planning system has been expanded with additional features such as choosing your desired battery level upon arrival and selecting favourite charging networks. The energy tab now shows efficiency advice tailored for novice electric vehicle drivers. Additionally, a significant improvement allows running two separate applications simultaneously across the Lucid’s dual screens; previously, this capability was notably absent from the Air model.
 </p>

  I'm labeling this as a preliminary enhancement solely due to many features not being operational during my trial run. Both the brand-new heads-up display and the voice assistant were inactive, several streaming apps remained unannounced, and Dog Mode along with Camp Mode had not been activated. We've observed a similar situation with vehicles such as the Polestar 3.

  As physical controls become increasingly rare in the auto world, Lucid is going against the grain by including customizable buttons on both the steering wheel and center console. They weren’t actually programmable yet on the test cars, but that will be a nice touch when it arrives.

  How Good Is It As A Car, And As An EV?

  The Gravity Grand Touring has an impressive range of 450 miles per full charge, outperforming major competitors such as the R1S with its 410-mile range.

  (364 miles) and the EQS SUV (324 miles). The Escalade IQ stands out as the outlier, boasting an estimated range of 460 miles according to the manufacturer, thanks to a substantially larger battery pack—which we will discuss further shortly.

  The charging speed is remarkably fast too. The Gravity supports charging at an astounding rate of up to 400 kilowatts, surpassing what many American charging stations can provide. According to separate tests, it gained approximately 200 miles of range in less than 11 minutes, solidifying its position as one of the fastest-charging electric vehicles globally, excluding those from China. Furthermore, this model stands out among non-Tesla electric vehicles for being equipped with such technology right off the bat.

  These are the clear advantages of excelling as an electric vehicle. However, there are also secondary benefits.

  Why does the Gravity perform significantly better than the Escalade IQ? Partly, this is due to Lucid’s dedication to achieving more with fewer resources. Despite having a smaller 123-kWh battery pack, the Gravity achieves roughly the same range as the Escalade, which boasts a larger 205-kWh battery. This size difference contributes to the fact that the Escalade weighs approximately 3,000 pounds more than the Gravity. With Lucid, you receive ample range using less power and enjoy faster recharge times—a testament to their efficiency philosophy.

  The relatively small battery pack, along with Lucid’s compact motors, contributes significantly to the ample interior space I mentioned before.

  Initial Review: Lucid Is a Contender, Provided It Manages to Market Its Product Successfully

  An uncertainty remains about how consumers will react to an aspect I've not highlighted so far: its van-inspired design. Although I appreciate the Gravity’s space-age appearance, there's no assurance it will appeal to affluent customers who prefer traditional designs like those found in robust models from brands such as Rivian, Audi, and Volvo. Additionally, another challenge lies in the cost factor. When first released, the 2026 Gravity has a starting price of at least $96,625 for the Grand Touring version, which could soar beyond six figures when including extra features. As noted earlier, this represents quite a significant investment.
 </p>
 <p>
  Moreover, Lucid must effectively communicate the impressive nature of its fully electric SUV to potential customers, acknowledging that this effort has consistently proven challenging for the company.
 </p>
 <p>
  "Frankly, I believe each one of us hopes Lucid enjoys greater recognition," stated Derek Jenkins, the company’s senior vice president of design and branding. According to him, they're planning an extensive marketing campaign focused on their fresh slogan "Compromise Nothing." This catchphrase might be familiar as it has been featured in certain online advertisements.
 </p>

  We'll have to wait and see how that develops. However, when it comes to slogans, I must say this one hits the mark quite well.

 Kolkata is all set to get the world's second-largest electric vehicle charging hub, which will be the next only to China. The EV charging hub is being built in South Kolkata's Thakurpukur area and it will have 300 chargers at a single site, allowing 300 electric vehicles to be charged at a time. The EV charging hub is expected to be operational by August this year. This hub will have both slow and fast chargers, with capacity loads of up to 120 kWh. About 20 per cent chargers of the EV charging hub will be fast chargers.

 Currently, China has the largest electric vehicle charging facility in the world, which houses 650 chargers at a single location. In India, the largest single-site electric vehicle charging hub is located in Gurgaon, which has 160 charging points. With the upcoming one in Kolkata, it will be the largest one, PTI has reported. The news agency has further reported that the upcoming electric vehicle charging hub is being built by EzUrja on a nearly two-acre abandoned plant of PSU Andrew Yule & Co.

 Speaking about the upcoming EV charging hub, Ashhok Kapoor, the Managing Director of EzUrja has said that this is going to be the first EV charging hub project from the company. "It is being executed for 300 vehicles of Snap-E, the all-electric app-based cab service. So far, the largest single-site EV charging hub in India is in Gurgaon, which has 160 charging points," he said. The project is estimated to cost an investment of

 7.5 crore and expected to become operation by August, ahead of Durga Puja, Kapoor further added.

 He also said that all the chargers that are being used at the upcoming charging hub, are being locally manufactured at EzUrja's Himachal Pradesh facility. "The hub will have a mix of fast and slow chargers, with capacity loads of up to 120 kWh. Fast chargers will constitute about 20 per cent of the total," he further said. The company has also revealed that the full load capacity of the hub will be 6 MW. To make it sustainable, the company claims to be installing solar panels and storage batteries. "We expect to generate about 40 per cent of the load from the microgrid we are developing at the site to ensure an eco-friendly and reliable energy supply," he said.
