He emphasized that the new legislation represents a significant revolution across various aspects because it grants the SEC the chance to maintain its Category A membership within the International Organization of Securities Commission.

 Religion states this is important as it enables other nations to compare the Nigerian Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and its capital market against those of other regions. This comparison can attract more foreign investment and investors to the Nigerian capital market, thereby expanding the market’s reach within Nigeria.

 The Director-General of the SEC mentioned that one of the key features of the updated law is the expansion of possibilities for fundraising within the Nigerian capital market. Additionally, this legislation includes regulations for online foreign exchange activities, in which many Nigerians participate, along with introducing laws pertaining to the governance of digital assets in Nigeria.

 He stated, "This development is significant because within Nigeria’s youth populace, numerous individuals participate in this sector. Therefore, offering clear guidelines along with establishing a proper legal foundation is crucial for progress. Additionally, the introduction of the Legal Entity Identifier into Nigerian legislation addresses issues related to derivative transactions."

 The legal framework effectively encompasses the commodities ecosystem, regulating various aspects from the spot market through the derivatives market to the secondary market. Additionally, this legislation eliminates constraints imposed by state and local governments on raising capital and fostering development within their jurisdictions.  The head of the SEC highlighted that the stipulations of this legislation are extensive and foundational in establishing a vibrant, robust, and solid capital market. This market will play a crucial role in advancing the country's economic growth and supporting President's aim to achieve a one-trillion-dollar economy.

 The boys and girls teams both ended up in sixth place at the statewide competition, which involved 20 teams and took place over two days with a single-elimination format.

 Last autumn, the Knights secured consecutive titles in the 5A state championship but narrowly missed achieving a third successive win, finishing as runners-up. This outcome marked Titus Ramon's debut season as head coach.
</p>
<p>
 Three out of St. Augustine's five participants advanced to the quarterfinals.
</p>
<p>
 From April 7-8 in Waco, St. Augustine had their deepest run yet in the state tournament within the boys bracket. During this time, Mariano Garcia secured two victories in singles play, including a narrow win in a third-set tiebreaker, which propelled him into the 5A singles semifinals. However, his junior year concluded with a third-place defeat against eventual state champion Tucker Rannala from Regents School of Austin.
</p>
<p>
 On the boys' side, the sophomore duo consisting of Marcelo Gonzalez and Wayo Rodriguez also competed but were eliminated in the opening round after losing a third-set tiebreaker.

 On the girls' side, the Knights had three listings.

 The pairing of junior Camila Villarreal and senior Anissa Quesada emerged victorious in their initial round encounter, which went down to a closely contested third-set tiebreak. This lawsuit involves 16 members from the ownership group, including restaurateur Kyle O'Brien.

 The legal complaint asserts that Jensen has engaged in constructive fraud and violated his fiduciary responsibilities by diverting corporate money to enterprises under his control. Additionally, he recently inaugurated Bar One downtown, located on the first level of The Stuward, which was previously called Packard Place.

 The legal action alleges that Jensen utilized corporate money for his own use and accumulated significant debts on behalf of the eatery partnership.

 As numerous times before, after arriving at Ho Chi Minh City's Tan Son Nhat International Airport, I walked out to a chaotic scene of joyous family reunions and taxi drivers touting for business.

 I was greeted with a blast of 32-Celsius-degree heat, prompting me to quickly shed layers meant for airplane temperatures and a cacophony of beeping horns from automobiles jockeying for position at pick-up points.

 My airport transfer turned up late, apparently delayed thanks to the notorious traffic, which I reacquainted myself with as we slowly inched our way to my Dong Khoi Street hotel. Invariably, my taxi got gridlocked by a sea of motorbikes, with riders glancing down at me with the most disarming of smiles.

 My first hour back in Vietnam and this is just what I expected – and missed. After reluctantly leaving during the Covid 'Delta variant' outbreak in mid-2021, after more than three years away, finally, I'm happy to be back in intoxicating, one-of-a-kind, Ho Chi Minh City, my former home.

 Shortly after checking in, I quickly find myself needing to become tech-savvy. This involves downloading crucial applications for booking rides and excursions, ordering food deliveries, and translating between Vietnamese and English—functions that appear integral to daily living here (a true blessing). At the same time, massive electronic billboards dominate the city center, constantly displaying ads featuring attractive young people endorsing products ranging from beer to smartphones.

 Although international visitors have come back, even during high season, I can't remember seeing so many before; nowadays, it’s become a ‘must-visit’.

It’s challenging to find a seat before the long lines at trendy Western eateries, particularly those that have become social media sensations and places known for their banh mi. In downtown HCMC, I often feel like I might be knocked down by the throngs of tourists occupying the sidewalks. Each evening, these same crowds pack into the newly introduced open-top double-decker buses as they cruise through the city’s illuminated streets on guided tours (they look incredibly enjoyable; I’m almost enticed to join them myself).

 In downtown shopping centers, visitors can be seen carrying bags from various global brands, weighed down by their purchases. Their animated conversations echo through the bustling food courts upwards into the multilevel lobbies. The city currently has three such establishments.

Souvenir tee-shirts sold in tourist haunts like Ben Thanh Market and Saigon Square increasingly feature designs that poke fun at the Saigonese lack of respect for traffic lights.

  Reaching new heights

 From the city center to the outer suburbs, the number of high-rise buildings has ramped up. True, some remain half-built, but along with pretty much elsewhere in the city, even those skeletal towers come to life come nighttime, attractively illuminated with bright fluorescent hues; so too, the cluster of drab residential tower blocks along the riverbanks. The Indochina-era, Notre Dame Cathedral, undergoing long-term renovations and engulfed in scaffolding, is itself magically transformed post-dusk into a giant grotto of fairy lights.

 From the upper deck of a nighttime cruise along the Saigon River and my heavenly suite on the 38th floor of a downtown hotel (perched above an equally luxurious shopping center), I'm totally in awe of a glittering nighttime skyline that is starting to rival Hong Kong or Bangkok. The stars of this dazzling show are undoubtedly those well-established architectural masterpieces: the 68-storey Bitexco Financial Tower and Landmark 81, Southeast Asia's second tallest building.

   New Delhi [India], April 6 (ANI): After a volatile week following the Trump administration's announcement of reciprocal tariffs, Indian stock indices are set to take cues from the upcoming monetary policy review meeting (April 7-9), followed by the scheduled release of domestic inflation data.

   Trump's reciprocal tariff announcement last week sent tremors across asset classes globally, including here in India. Equity markets worldwide slumped, particularly after Trump's sweeping trade tariffs, which stoked fears of an all-out trade war and a global economic recession.

   "For India, the impact may not be as deep as anticipated given the size of trade balance with US," said Union Bank of India in a note.
  </p>
  <p>
   Indian stock indices closed the week on a sour note, weighed down by the Trump reciprocal tariffs and the uncertainties surrounding them. The Se

   x slumped about 2,100 points this week.

   "Investors are expected to closely monitor any countermeasures implemented by global trade partners, which could further exacerbate geopolitical and economic uncertainty. This cautious sentiment is reflected in the sustained rally in gold and bond prices, underscoring a pronounced shift toward safe-haven assets," said Vinod Nair, Head of Research, Geojit Investments Limited.

   "The tariffs imposed on India are relatively lower compared to those on other Asian economies, offering a degree of relief. Any constructive developments arising from the ongoing India-US bilateral trade negotiations could serve as a supportive catalyst for the market," Nair added.
  </p>
  <p>
   Since assuming office for his second term, President Trump has reiterated his stance on tariff reciprocity, emphasising that the United States will match tariffs imposed by other countries, including India, to ensure fair trade.
  </p>
  <p>
   On April 2, the US President issued an executive order on reciprocal tariffs, imposing additional ad valorem duties ranging from 10 per cent to 50 per cent on imports from all trading partners. The baseline duty of 10 per cent will be effective from April 05, 2025, and the remaining country-specific additional ad valorem duty will be effective from April 09, 2025. The additional duty on India is 26 per cent.
  </p>
  <p>
   Going ahead, the market focus will gradually shift toward the upcoming corporate earnings season.
  </p>
  <p>
   "We expect the market to remain volatile with sector-specific action, tracking RBI's interest rate decision, pre-quarterly business updates/Q4 results and global market cues," said Siddhartha Khemka, Head - Research, Wealth Management, Motilal Oswal Financial Services. (ANI)

  During the 159th session of the State Executive Council meeting held in Yenagoa on Wednesday, the governor voiced his belief that his administration’s legacy will be characterized by significant initiatives covering areas such as infrastructure, electricity, education, and athletics.

  As he celebrated Team Bayelsa’s victory as overall champions at the inaugural Niger Delta Sports Festival, Diri mentioned that the state will shortly experience significant advancements across various sectors.
