This Middle English term ‘philosophy’ stems from the ancient Greek phrase philosophia; here, phileo signifies an affection for and Sophia denotes wisdom, leading to the translation of 'philosophy' as 'the love of wisdom.' </p> <p> In ancient Greek times, when philosophers initiated their exploration into the nature of self and existence, the prevailing belief among intellectuals was that philosophical thought begins with amazement. This idea is well illustrated through Socrates' dialogue with Theaetetus in Plato’s work titled *The Theaetetus*, wherein Socrates remarks, “Awe is what sets apart those who engage in philosophy. Indeed, nothing else serves as an origin for philosophy...” Similarly, Aristotle supports this concept, stressing the importance of intellectual curiosity. In light of this, why engage in philosophy at all? </p> <p> Initially, engaging in philosophical texts offers us an opportunity to challenge our instincts, thereby enhancing our ability to think critically. When we encounter a piece of philosophy that aligns with our natural inclinations, it confirms these instincts. However, delving deeper into similar material forces us to examine whether those initial reactions hold up under scrutiny. This process creates room for critique and fosters critical analysis. </p> <p> Apart from honing critical thinking skills, engaging in philosophical activities, as Wittgenstein pointed out, brings us nearer to comprehending our inquiries by clarifying the ambiguities in our language when we use intricate terms. Through this process, we refine human communication. </p> <p> As philosophy deals with guiding our lives, it has consistently served as a means to uncover the concept of the "good life." By directly influencing ethics and morality—which subsequently shape disciplines like politics and economics—philosophy steers human society toward this pursuit of an ideal existence. </p> <p> The lack of objectivity in philosophy does not necessarily detract from its appealing nature. In fact, contemporary philosopher Richard Rorty suggests redirecting philosophical efforts toward fostering human unity instead of pursuing objectivity. Budget Implementation Kicks Off Today: Finance Minister Paudel

Esas preguntas han sido el motor de mi investigación durante los últimos años y están reflejadas en mi libro más reciente. </p> <p> Si sos como yo, seguramente alguna vez fuiste de compras solo para caminar o disfrutar de un delicioso café, sin tener la menor intención de adquirir algo, pero al final terminaste saliendo con varias bolsas rebosantes de ropa, perfume y otros objetos recién comprados. <strong> <em> ¿Qué ocurrió durante esa acción? </em> Simplemente, lo que ocurrió fue que tu cerebro decidió comprar sin importar tu deseo de no hacerlo. </strong> </p> <p> Lo que ocurrió es que determinados estímulos, como una vidriera muy llamativa, una muy buena oferta y el ambiente del shopping han logrado activar el sistema de recompensas de tu cerebro para que se libere un neurotransmisor llamado <strong> dopamina </strong> . <em> ¿Qué genera la dopamina? </em> Este neurotransmisor y hormona hace que se enciendan tus impulsos y lleves a cabo una acción en pos de obtener aquello, o dicho de otra manera, hace que vayas en busca de la recompensa, que en este caso se trata de lo que acabas de comprar. Y esto ocurre una y otra vez sin que te des cuenta de ello, hasta podría decirse que tu cerebro te engaña y toma el control de todas las decisiones, incluso aquellas que no quisieras tomar. ¿ <strong> Alguna vez decidiste empezar una dieta y de repente la interrumpís al ver algo dulce y rico en una panadería? ¿Te imaginas porque sucede eso? </strong> En efecto, de nuevo la dopamina asume el poder de tus impulsos. </p> <p> El 95 % de las decisiones que tomamos los humanos son procesos que se dan en forma involuntaria, inconsciente y automática. Pensemos que nuestro cerebro se encuentra programado para sobrevivir, por lo que decide y nos mueve hacia acciones que estén dirigidas a alcanzar este objetivo. Es por ello que sentimos impulso por la comida y el sexo, la necesidad de pertenecer a un grupo social, encontrar pareja, como así también el miedo que nos embarga ante lo desconocido. De ahí se desprenden acciones que, desde una mirada biológica, lo que buscan es alimento, reproducción, pertenencia y seguridad. </p> <p> Hoy sabemos que los seres humanos no somos conscientes de la gran mayoría de las decisiones que tomamos. <strong> De acuerdo con estudios de neurociencia, el cerebro toma una decisión varios segundos antes de que seamos conscientes de que lo ha hecho. </strong> Lo cierto es que todos respondemos en forma predeterminada a ciertos estímulos que se encuentran grabados en lo más profundo de nuestro ser y que corresponden con la evolución de nuestra especie. </p> <p> Es simple notar cuándo alguien opta por adquirir un producto o decidirse por no hacerlo; pero lo que permanece invisible son los factores internos detrás de esa elección. Justamente ahí radica la motivación, y con ello, el funcionamiento del mecanismo de recompensa. </p> <p> Además, muchas de nuestras motivaciones están influenciadas por nuestro entorno, lo cual significa que dependen del período histórico, del contexto específico y de las prácticas culturales sociales propias de la era en la que nos criamos. Este aspecto presenta un desafío particular para quienes venden productos o servicios hoy día: ¿cómo transmitir valor a diversas generaciones? </p> <p> Imaginemos que mientras los baby boomers (1946 - 1964) se sienten atraídos por adquirir artículos provenientes de compañías establecidas y confiables, apreciando características como solidez y resistencia, la generación Z (1997 - 2009), en cambio, tiende hacia compras impulsadas por elementos novedosos y ecológicamente conscientes, poniendo mayor énfasis en proteger al entorno antes que en mantener objetos duraderos. Esta distinción surge debido a cómo han vivido cada una de estas cohortes dentro de sus respectivos ambientes sociales: para los primeros, un panorama marcado por la constancia y certeza; para estos últimos, uno caracterizado por la necesidad de adaptarse rápidamente ante cambios constantes. Desde este punto de vista, gracias a procesos neurológicos denominados "neuroplasticidad", donde las experiencias influyen directamente sobre el cerebro humano, es posible entender mejor dicha divergencia. Así pues, si bien los miembros de la Generación Baby Boomer ven en la persistencia y fiabilidad factores cruciales tanto para productos comerciales como personales, aquellos pertenecientes a Generation Z prefieren firmar por marcas comprometidas socialmente además de ser respetuosas con nuestro mundo natural, buscando siempre opciones que les ofrezcan comodidades prácticas sin descuidar su independencia durante todo el proceso desde la elección hasta finalizar cualquier transacción comercial. En otras palabras, buscan realizar compras, efectuar pagos y obtener sus mercancías de forma flexible y autónoma. <em> cuando, donde y como </em> lo prefieran. </p> <p> Como observamos, esta metodología actúa como un instrumento robusto para detectar intereses, motivaciones, comportamientos y valores compartidos. Además, queda claro que el foco no reside en el producto en sí, sino en el valor que encarna. Lo distintivo radica en la forma en que estos productos transmiten ese valor y poseen la potencialidad de liberarlo. <strong> dopamina. </strong> En efecto, la venta consiste en conectar con valores y en activar el sistema de recompensas. <strong> Y claramente, al conectar con valores estamos conectando con personas, con lo humano, con lo que marca la diferencia. </strong> </p> <p> En síntesis, podemos afirmar que las personas no compran productos sino que estos son solo “medios” para satisfacer sus necesidades, valores y motivaciones. Comprar, definitivamente es un acto de motivación. Over the last two seasons, Stingley has intercepted a total of 10 passes, placing him in a tie for fourth place in terms of interceptions across the league during this period. </li> <li> <strong> The LSU athletes are now receiving compensation. </strong> Stingley was actually an LSU teammate of Ja'Marr Chase in 2019, and with both guys getting a new deal, that team has combined to make some serious money in the NFL. Additionally, other major items such as LPG and sugar saw declines of 2.7% and 0.25%, respectively. However, the costs for 14 crucial products increased; notably, tomatoes surged by 4.5%, potatoes climbed by 2.9%, and egg prices went up by 2.2%. </p> <p> The reduction in inflation affected every economic segment. Families with the least income observed a 0.67% decrease in their weekly spending, whereas those with the most significant incomes noted a marginally larger dip of 0.74%.
